Stratford Upon Avon: Tutu-ing Around Shakespeare's Town! (Post #5294)

Hello darlings! It's Emma, your resident pink tutu-wearing, ballet-obsessed blogger, and I'm just back from a whirlwind trip to the gorgeous town of Stratford-upon-Avon! It was the most magical escape, brimming with Shakespearean charm, cobbled streets, and, of course, an opportunity to indulge in my favourite pastimes - ballet, tutus, and travel!

I must confess, I opted for a train journey this time. There's something so utterly romantic about watching the English countryside zip by as you sip your tea, feeling like a Victorian heroine in my frilly, floral-printed dress. And of course, my pink tutu adorned my suitcase for this little escapade. A girl never leaves home without her signature outfit!

As the train pulled into Stratford, I couldn't help but feel a little bit giddy with excitement. The station was a charming old building with beautiful stone carvings, already setting the tone for the rest of the trip. Stepping out, I inhaled the fresh air and was enveloped by the buzzing energy of the town. People were strolling along the cobbled streets, ducks waddled in the River Avon, and the aroma of fresh pastries filled the air - I knew this trip was going to be a dream!

Now, for the ultimate ballet experience, it was straight to the Royal Shakespeare Company! This majestic building is where my love for tutus and theatre truly collided. The performance was a rendition of Romeo and Juliet, a masterpiece that truly stole my heart. Seeing those elegant costumes swirl on stage and hearing the orchestra’s music brought a tear to my eye. There's just something about live performance, particularly when it involves a dash of drama, that gets me utterly captivated.

The best part, of course, was dressing up for the occasion. I chose my "Juliet" tutu for the night, with layers of delicate tulle and a sprinkle of sparkling rhinestones, fittingly in the prettiest shade of pink, naturally! The stage lights really enhanced its beautiful shine and I just felt like a fairy princess.

After the performance, we enjoyed a scrumptious dinner in a quaint little pub, where the smell of roasted meat and vegetables hung heavy in the air. Afterwards, we wandered down to the River Avon to soak in the evening's beauty. There’s a real magical quality to this town in the evenings; the quiet whispers of the river, the twinkling lights reflecting off the water - it’s truly breathtaking!

And of course, I had to fit in a bit of dancing myself! The Stratford Ballet Centre, hidden away down a cobbled alleyway, beckoned to me with the promise of a truly delightful morning. I had a fabulous time during my barre session, surrounded by like-minded souls and energized by their passion for dance. Just picture me, twirling gracefully, perfecting my pirouettes and feeling my inner ballerina bloom. Honestly, I don't know why more people don't give ballet a try!

The next day, we visited Anne Hathaway's cottage. What a delightful little haven, bursting with charm and history! It made me wish I could go back in time and meet Anne herself - perhaps steal a few style tips from her!

Before heading back to Derbyshire, I couldn’t resist browsing through the local craft shops and antique stores, finding a charming miniature carriage perfect for my growing collection of dollhouse furniture. After all, a tutu-wearing ballet blogger always needs some delicate adornments to accessorize her little world.

This trip has truly filled me with joy, making me even more excited to wear my pink tutus, encourage others to embrace their inner ballerina, and to keep travelling the world, spreading the love of ballet, tutus, and everything whimsical!

As for you, my darling readers, what's your favourite travel destination? What inspires you? Do share your stories in the comments below. And don't forget to embrace your inner princess! We can all have our very own happy ending.

Love, Emma
