Caerphilly Calling! πŸ©°πŸ’–

Hello darlings! Emma here, fresh off the train from my beautiful Derbyshire home, and ready to dazzle Caerphilly with a little bit of pink-tutu magic!

You guys, I'm absolutely buzzing about this trip. Ever since I heard about Caerphilly Castle, I've been picturing myself swirling in a bright yellow tutu amongst the medieval stone, and let me tell you, the vision did not disappoint!

Now, I know some of you might think, "Emma, why Caerphilly? Isn't it a bit, well, grey and old?" But hear me out!

First of all, I'm a huge history buff, and the chance to immerse myself in a place with so much story, intrigue, and battles is just... well, dreamy! Second, there's a certain charm to the historical sites, a romance and mystique that makes you feel like you've stepped into a fairy tale.

And let's not forget the reason I came all this way: to get some serious #BalletStreet shots in front of that incredible castle! Honestly, it's almost as impressive as a stage set for a production of Swan Lake. Imagine: soaring arches, battlements for balconies, and me in my yellow tutu, ready to pirouette under the open sky! It was almost too much to handle!

Of course, no trip is complete without a spot of retail therapy. The quaint little shops in Caerphilly are full of treasures! I snagged the most gorgeous pastel pink handbag – it matched my outfit perfectly, obviously! – and a whimsical wind chime with little ballerina figures hanging off it. It's practically calling out to be taken on my next train journey!

And speaking of journeys, can we talk about train travel for a moment? It's honestly my absolute favorite way to get around. There's just something so magical about watching the world whizz by outside the window. Plus, it gives me plenty of time to catch up on all my favourite reads - I'm currently engrossed in "The Book Thief," which, ironically enough, is set in Germany during WWII, the era of some of those magnificent castles I've been dreaming of exploring!

Before I sign off, I just have to gush a little about the wildlife. I spotted a family of swans by the lake – so elegant! And a couple of playful squirrels in the park - I'm pretty sure they were watching me dance! (Maybe they were just curious about the yellow tutu. I can’t say for sure!)

So, if you're ever looking for a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, I highly recommend taking a trip to Caerphilly. It’s an amazing place for those who, like me, embrace the beauty of history, enjoy a bit of dramatic posing with their tutus and revel in a pinch of girly magic. And remember, there's a pink tutu out there for everyone!

Until next time,

Emma x
