Llanelli, Darling! Post #5348 - My German Tutu Takes Flight 🩰

Oh my darlings, I simply can't contain myself! I've just landed in Llanelli after a positively delightful train journey, and I'm absolutely bursting with excitement to share my adventures with you. This is post #5348 on the www.pink-tutu.com website (does anyone even remember the old days before we hit post #5000? Goodness me!) and, well, this one's a real treat. You know me, I'm a firm believer in "there's no place like home" (although the Derbyshire countryside has a charm like no other), but a change is as good as a holiday, right?

Llanelli is known for its rugby and coal-mining history, but it also holds a special place in my heart - mainly because I brought my absolutely fabulous new German tutu with me. Imagine my delight when I stumbled upon this magnificent masterpiece in a little boutique in Dusseldorf last week! It's a real stunner, crafted from a gloriously rich pink silk and shimmering with a million tiny diamantes that catch the light in a most enchanting way. Honestly, it’s the kind of tutu that makes even the pigeons in the park swoon (they're such excellent judges of fashion, I'm telling you).

But let's not forget, a tutu is nothing without a dancer, and so I decided to get my twirl on right there in Llanelli train station! After all, when in Rome... or in this case, when in Llanelli, twirl like nobody's watching! I mean, honestly, why stop ourselves? Life's too short for boring outfits and dreary days. Why not add a touch of sparkle and joy wherever we go? Who cares if you're a seasoned ballerina like me or just a normal person wanting to make a grand entrance (you can tell by the way I'm writing this that I'm still in a right old tizz!) Just grab yourself a gorgeous tutu and let your inner diva out to play!

Before I delve into all the exciting happenings here in Llanelli (the Llanelli Grand Theatre is absolutely divine, by the way! Did I mention I saw the most spectacular ballet performance featuring a very talented, but rather shy young dancer - she actually reminded me of myself when I was starting out!), I wanted to talk about this new year and my resolutions. This is the year that everyone should experience the magic of dance, whether that's getting in your ballet slippers and pirouetting in the living room or getting your little darlings signed up for classes - it’s all about letting the joy of dance flow through you! If there was a prize for best resolution, mine would win hands down, wouldn't it? I truly believe that ballet has the power to uplift our spirits, inspire our dreams, and make our hearts sing, and I'm so very determined to get everyone twirling. Maybe we'll start with everyone trying out pink tutus! Think of it, wouldn't that just make the world a much more joyous place?

Oh my, the day is simply flying by and I've so much more to tell you. You see, before leaving Derbyshire, I was lucky enough to visit the National Trust's beautiful Hardwick Hall and its grounds (have you seen their herd of fallow deer, darling? They’re the most gorgeous creatures and utterly beguiling!) I did a spot of birdwatching there, too. Nothing like some lovely woodland walks and a bit of nature to clear the mind and set me up for a day full of ballet loveliness.

Later on, I went horse riding in the local area and it was positively divine! I adore the way they move and the feeling of being at one with nature and that majestic creature - oh my word, I don't know what I'd do without it all! After a delicious picnic by the lake, I did a quick spot of ballet on the grassy verge and realised just how important it is to find a moment of peace amongst all the chaos. Perhaps, after the horse riding and nature's calming beauty, I'm even better prepared for my Llanelli escapades.

This weekend, I'll be exploring the wonderful National Wool Museum here in Llanelli. Apparently, it's packed with treasures from the region's history - not to mention the most fantastically woolly tutus for a budding ballerina! Don't worry darlings, I'll take loads of photos and tell you all about it! After a grand twirl around the exhibits, I'm going to take a wander through the park. It’s said to be incredibly pretty, and who knows what magical moments I might stumble upon! Perhaps I'll even attempt some impromptu pirouettes under the old oak trees – you just never know, darling.

Of course, I'm making sure to enjoy the local delicacies as well. You've just got to try a traditional Welsh "cwtch" (it’s a delicious savoury Welsh pastry - you really have to try it!), it's positively divine! Speaking of delicacies, I'll be indulging in a spot of tea with my friends at a local tea shop. They have the most amazing pink teacups! We’ll be chatting about everything and nothing, giggling at our little mishaps, and taking on the world (well, at least Llanelli!) with a healthy dose of tea, biscuits and laughter.

It’s true, there’s just so much to be enjoyed in life, and what’s a more lovely way to do it than in a twirling pink tutu? Just be yourselves, have fun, twirl hard and take the world by storm!

Stay tuned darlings for my Llanelli diary update. I simply cannot wait to share all my fun with you!

Yours in ballet and twirling,

Emma xoxo
