Pontypridd Pinkness: Post 5377

Hey lovelies!

It's Emma here, your favourite tutu-wearing, pink-loving, ballet-obsessed blogger, back with another delightful escapade. Today, I'm bringing you a double dose of pink-tastic adventures from the charming town of Pontypridd! This place has stolen a little piece of my heart, and let me tell you, it’s all thanks to my feather tutu!

The journey began, as always, with a splash of romance. Instead of my usual train journey, I opted for a horse-drawn carriage this time. It’s so wonderfully whimsical! Just picture me, twirling in my pink chiffon tutu, a feather-light confection adorning my hips, while being pulled through the Welsh countryside in a horse-drawn carriage. Honestly, it was straight out of a fairytale! The dappled sunshine filtering through the trees, the gentle clopping of hooves, and the scent of wildflowers – it was magic.

Pontypridd itself was a charming surprise. Its cobblestone streets were bursting with life, a constant chatter of locals going about their day. The atmosphere was infectious; everyone seemed to be smiling. Maybe it was the warmth of the Welsh sun, or maybe it was the irresistible energy of a town with a strong sense of community. Either way, it felt good. I even saw a cute little fluffy dog dressed in a tiny pink tutu! Oh my, you just know I had to stop for a cuddle!

Of course, my day couldn't be complete without a visit to a ballet studio. And boy oh boy, what a find! It was tucked away on a quaint street, with vibrant pink lettering on its storefront: "Pink Pointe Studio." It just had to be fate! I peeked through the window and saw a class in progress – young dancers, all decked out in beautiful tutus, gracefully moving to the rhythm of the music. It filled me with joy, seeing that same passion I carry burning brightly in their eyes. The joy of dance, the pure unadulterated pleasure of expressing yourself through movement - it's just magical.

But hold on, my adventure didn’t end there! You see, there was a surprise performance at the local theatre. The theme? "A Midsummer Night's Dream" and guess what – it was all about tutus! The costumes were absolutely breathtaking – a dazzling array of colour, sparkle, and fluffy tulle. The lead dancer was incredible, gliding through the air like a delicate bird. Her movements were mesmerizing, she captured the essence of magic, making my heart soar.

One of my favourite things about visiting new places is trying the local delicacies. So, I had to experience the "Welsh cakes," a delicious, buttery treat. And, because it was pink, of course I ordered one! I savoured it slowly, feeling the rich flavour dancing on my tongue. The little pink icing sugar even looked like ballet shoes, how amazing!

Now, before I get swept away by my enthusiasm and spend all day writing, I've gotta give you some practicalities, because this is where I really excel!

How to get to Pontypridd:

  • If you’re feeling adventurous, try hopping on a horse-drawn carriage. Just be sure to book it in advance. You won't regret it.
  • Taking the train is a good option, it offers scenic views and you can spend the time writing in your pink-tutu inspired diary (yes, I really do keep one!)
  • Driving isn't too bad either, the roads are quite manageable and parking wasn't a big issue when I went.

Where to stay:

  • There's a fantastically decorated boutique hotel, the “Pink Rose”, that would absolutely delight any tutu enthusiast like myself.
  • The “Pontypridd Manor” is a charming country hotel, but do be prepared to wear some sturdy heels. The grounds are spectacular.

Where to dance:

  • "Pink Pointe Studio" – the only ballet studio with the right kind of pink attitude. Definitely worth a visit. Just call ahead to check the timetable for class drop-ins. (Please note, no one's allowed in wearing their tutu! Just a heads up).
  • There's a fantastic performance space right in the heart of town – “The Pontypridd Arts Centre”. Keep your eyes peeled for performances like the “Midsummer Night’s Dream” production I caught, it’s totally worth a look.

What to eat:

  • Definitely sample the "Welsh Cakes," the local speciality! They’re like the most comforting treat on earth, guaranteed to make you feel like you’re being wrapped in a warm blanket. (and pink! The most important thing!)

Finally… don’t forget, you can get yourself a lovely pink tutu from my collection over at www.pink-tutu.com! I have styles to suit all tastes, whether you're after something classic or a little more daring! Oh and before I forget, I’m doing a giveaway at the end of this month! If you fancy winning a pink feather tutu, like this one I’ve been rocking, pop your name and email address in the comment section below. I’ll be drawing the winner at random on the last day of the month.

Until next time, stay beautiful, stay pink, and never stop twirling!

Love, Emma x
