Rugby, with a Green Tutu! (Post #5508)

Oh darling, where do I even begin?! This week has been absolutely whirlwind, and I wouldn't have it any other way! It's all thanks to my favourite hobby, of course: ballet!

It all started last Sunday, when I found myself packing my bag for a trip to Rugby. Now, you all know I love a good train journey – there's something so romantic about it, don't you think? Sipping on a cuppa, gazing out at the countryside, lost in a good book...pure bliss! This time, I was especially excited, because I was heading to see the most wonderful, talented dancers performing at a local theatre. The performance was a celebration of ballet from all over the world, which is my absolute favourite kind of show. It's like a journey through time and culture, and the sheer range of styles, the breathtaking skill of the dancers, it's simply breathtaking!

And speaking of breathtaking, the show was incredibly inspiring. You know, I love watching ballet – it's a perfect combination of athleticism, artistry, and pure emotion – but watching these dancers just reignited my love for it! It reminded me of the pure joy and freedom of expression that ballet can offer. Every pirouette, every leap, every graceful gesture told a story, brought tears to my eyes, and sent shivers down my spine! You wouldn't believe how hard I tried to refrain from bursting into applause mid-performance, it took all my willpower!

The highlight of the evening, though, was definitely the "ballet street" portion. Now, if you've never heard of ballet street before, let me introduce you. It's where the world of classical ballet collides with the modern urban environment. Imagine contemporary dance meets street dance, but with a classical touch, a dash of elegance, and a whole lotta sassy energy. I just love how it reinterprets traditional ballet movements into a more contemporary style, how it captures the spirit of urban life in a totally new way, how it pushes the boundaries of ballet itself.

And, darling, you won't believe what happened after the show!

You see, as I was making my way back to the station, who did I bump into but the sweetest, most bubbly girl I’d ever seen! She was dressed in a bright, sunshine yellow dress, and (guess what?) a gorgeous green tutu! We chatted for a bit, and it turned out she’d been at the show too – just like me! But the real shocker was… she'd been inspired by the show and was ready to embark on her own ballet journey. This amazing soul was planning to try out her local ballet class for the first time next week, all thanks to the energy of the show!

And don't even get me started about how ecstatic I was. It was like my heart was about to burst! Isn’t that the best feeling, though? Sharing your love of something so special with others, helping them discover a passion that resonates with their very soul, witnessing that spark of joy? It’s what makes my whole life worth living, you know.

I love knowing I can contribute to bringing a little bit of “pink tutu” magic to the world! So you can imagine how excited I was to give this darling new friend the gift of her very first real pink tutu – and yes, you guessed it! We went tutu shopping straight after!

I know you guys know how much I adore tutus (who doesn't?!) But finding the perfect one can be quite the adventure! Thankfully, we found this beautiful blush-pink tutu that shimmered like starlight in the store. This wasn't just any ordinary tutu – it had this soft, tulle skirt that just swirled and twirled in the most magical way, like a fairytale come to life. It was perfectly made for dancing and feeling like a graceful ballerina. You can imagine her eyes sparkling with excitement – I think she could've worn that tutu all day!

And darling, let’s be honest, every time I get to gift someone a pink tutu, it makes my soul sing a happy song! Just a tiny step towards fulfilling my life goal: everyone, everywhere wearing pink tutus and doing ballet, or at least giving it a go! I think the world could definitely use a little more pink tutus and a lot more pirouettes, don't you agree?

Of course, no adventure with me would be complete without some delightful detours. And trust me, darling, this journey had plenty!

After our tutu escapade, we found ourselves in this adorable little bakery, surrounded by the most delightful aroma of fresh-baked goodies! My sweet tooth was calling, so we grabbed some freshly baked cinnamon swirls and a pot of strong tea. This lovely little bakery, darling, had a special place in my heart: the windowsill was lined with these cute, little porcelain birds. Oh, how I love birds! So much so, that they have this permanent spot in my heart (along with squirrels and other friendly creatures of the forest!).

But our sweet detour took a more “wild” turn when, on the way back to the station, we came across a breathtaking forest. Just the kind of woodland that's begging to be explored! All those big, old, strong trees, casting those deep shadows... it's simply magical! The only downside? We didn’t have a whole day to delve into this glorious forest and search for fairies. But what we did manage to catch, darling, was a little glimpse of something rather beautiful! It was a family of squirrels playing hide-and-seek amidst the trees – completely oblivious to our presence.

Oh, I’m a sucker for all the furry little creatures! The little squirrels playing and scampering around, the shy, dainty rabbits, the birds chirping from their lofty branches... If I ever find a woodland where all those magical creatures live, I’ll simply have to buy myself a lovely little cottage, wouldn't you agree?

So, that's it, my dear friends! It was a weekend bursting with ballet bliss, beautiful detours, and a sprinkle of pink tutu magic! I’m now back in my Derbyshire home, writing this blog post surrounded by a whirlwind of pink tutu energy! But as the saying goes, "The show must go on!".

Don’t forget to follow me on www.pink-tutu.com for daily doses of tutus, ballet bliss, and a touch of "pink tutu" magic. You won't regret it!

Love and twirls,

Emma xx
