Kendal Calling: A Purple Tutu Adventure (Blog Post #5646)

Hello darlings! Emma here, back from another fabulous adventure, and trust me, this one was a real humdinger!

As you all know, my little heart beats for anything sparkly, pretty and pink, but sometimes I just have to throw a bit of a curveball in, a little burst of the unexpected. So imagine my delight when I stumbled upon a festival in the Lake District called Kendal Calling. Kendal, I hear you say, "why not somewhere glamorous?" Well, it’s just that hint of a rebellious spirit that makes a trip really sing, don't you think? And it gave me the perfect opportunity to rock a colour outside my comfort zone – the majestic, fabulous purple!

Imagine, a sprawling field, the smell of fresh-cut grass in the air, a backdrop of lush rolling hills, all bursting with music, laughter, and… a whole host of adorable fluffy sheep! Did I tell you I’m a bit of a secret animal lover? Can't resist a cute furry face, so these little lambs made the festival even more special.

And yes, the festival scene demanded a bit of a wardrobe shake-up. My pink tutus would have looked a tad too, well, ballerina-ish amongst the hippy chic. So what did this tutu-loving queen of the ballet wear? Well, dear friends, a gloriously billowing purple tutu of course! With a touch of delicate sequins for extra pizzazz and a flowing lilac chiffon top, I became the ultimate whimsical, slightly gothic fairytale creature – it was magic!

I danced, I sang (sometimes a bit off key, sorry!), I ate delicious locally sourced food and I made some wonderful new friends. I even managed to squeeze in a private ballet session – the beautiful green landscape of the Lake District was the perfect stage, wasn’t it?

We explored the historic town of Kendal, a true gem with cobbled streets and delightful cafes. It felt like I’d stepped into a quaint Jane Austen novel! And what’s a trip to the Lake District without a picturesque train journey? There’s something so calming about the rhythm of the tracks, the landscape rushing by – perfect for daydreaming about upcoming tutu-filled adventures, right?

But back to that magical purple tutu:

A big part of my pink-tutu life is about embracing colour and daring to be bold. Sometimes it’s pink, sometimes it’s a more dramatic purple, but it’s all about having the courage to try something new and expressing yourself with a smile.

It got me thinking, if you really want to see a vibrant change in the world, you need to embrace individuality and stand out! Just like the lovely purple tutu in the midst of a field full of people in more “conventional” outfits, it's those bold choices that bring brightness to the world.

So what are you waiting for? Embrace your own individual style, whether it’s pink, purple or anything else under the rainbow, and dance with joy! Go on, let the tutu magic begin!

That's all for now, dears! And as always, keep checking back on my website for more adventures. Don't forget, www.pink-tutu.com for daily blog posts, ballet tutorials and all things tutu-fabulous!

Until next time,

Emma xx
