Worthing Wonders: A Black Tutu & The Sea #5686

Hello darlings!

It’s Emma here, reporting live from the beautiful seaside town of Worthing! I'm in a bit of a state, because today was magical - but more about that in a minute! Let's just say, a black tutu, the sea, and some absolutely divine wildlife… you know what that means… an adventure fit for a princess!

First, the train journey - always an essential part of the experience. I don't know about you, but there’s something about being in a train carriage that gets my creative juices flowing. Especially when it's a beautifully restored vintage carriage with a roaring fireplace - so quaint! Of course, I was resplendent in a lovely pink sweater and, you guessed it, a black tutu! Why black, you ask? Well, darling, black is always chic. A touch of darkness to balance out the glorious sunshine that was beaming down on me today. It really was one of those 'crisp, fresh, autumn day' kind of moments.

The journey wasn't just pretty scenery and tea - I managed to have a chat with the most delightful gentleman. He was a retired ballet teacher, which, of course, meant that I simply had to tell him all about my pink-tutu dreams! I swear, I had him mesmerised by my mission to spread the joy of dance, tutus, and pink all across the globe! I also had to regale him with the tale of my recent performance with the 'Ballet in the Wild' troupe - it involved penguins and a bit of impromptu improvisation - don't even get me started! He said it sounded absolutely thrilling! We both agree that the most important thing is that ballet transcends borders, whether it’s in a plush theatre, a seaside town, or surrounded by penguins…

When we arrived in Worthing, the town was bustling with life. There was an air of energy and excitement, which is perfect for me! I made my way towards the promenade, just imagining all the wonderful experiences that lay ahead. My aim today, you see, was a ‘Ballet-by-the-Sea’ dance class. I'd seen a post on my favourite local website - it mentioned some delightful stretches and poses that can only be performed on the beach. It’s a unique kind of magic you get from breathing in the fresh sea air while balancing in fifth!

Before my class though, I wanted to take in the sights - Worthing pier! What a sight, truly! With all its traditional amusement rides and seafront stalls, it felt like a little slice of childhood heaven. And, to add to the sense of whimsy, a beautiful grey seal decided to make a dramatic appearance. He must have read my blog because, of course, seals are part of my pink-tutu lifestyle! Imagine… a seal and a ballerina, basking in the sunshine! Talk about a captivating tableau! The beach was also an excellent spot for sketching my ballet ideas for my blog. My dream is to find a ballet tutor that looks as fabulous in pink as me, perhaps for a collaborative post? We can wear pink tutus together - or maybe even design a limited-edition tutu for our followers… Just imagine!

The dance class, with its amazing seaside setting and breathtaking views, was truly magical. I'll be honest, it felt quite odd getting used to the swaying movements of the beach as I tried to do a pirouette! The salt spray from the ocean waves did present a bit of a challenge. As much as I loved it though, a little bit of sand is hard to get out of a tutu, my darlings, so make sure you pack a change of clothes! It’s best not to take your prized tutu for a dip in the sea! Although, it would make for a fabulous photoshoot if you ask me!

Speaking of which, did you know that I'm planning my very first Tutu Gala in Worthing next Spring?! SQUEEEE!!! It’s going to be the most flamboyant gathering of pink-loving ballet enthusiasts you could imagine, all under one magical roof! Imagine a whole evening filled with enchanting dance routines, sparkling tutus, and the biggest pink-tutu-themed fashion show in the whole of the UK! This one is already making it to my to-do list of dream-chasing goals!

But, back to my dance class. After working on a few poses with some rather lovely new ballet buddies, we decided to have a petit déjeuner on the promenade - it's always best to replenish after a delightful dance! With all the seagulls squawking above us, I even spotted a lovely grey-blue bird with a stunning white neck. I felt it was truly symbolic for my love of both wildlife and my passion for the art of dance, of course! What a wonderful day, don't you think?

The beauty of Worthing is in its diversity. This is the perfect place to dance, to enjoy nature, and to be your fabulous self. And while you’re at it, let’s sprinkle in a bit of whimsy with a sprinkle of pink… Because life's too short to be anything less than extraordinarily pink! Don't you think? So, tell me… Have you visited Worthing? Have you ever donned a black tutu by the seaside? What are your ballet dreams? Do you share my love for pink and all things sparkly? Do tell! I can’t wait to hear all your news and, most importantly, I can't wait to see you wear your favourite pink tutu… just for me! And remember my darlings - be bold, be you, and let’s sprinkle some pink into the world, together!

Until next time, Emma xx
