Morden Calling: Pink Tutus & Steam Trains

Hey lovely dancers! Today's journey took me to the charming town of Morden, nestled in the heart of Surrey. You see, the magic of ballet takes me on many adventures, and this particular escapade was fueled by a delightful mix of pink tutus, steam trains, and a touch of wildlife magic.

As a Derbyshire girl at heart, there’s nothing I adore more than hopping on a train. It's all part of the adventure, really, the journey adding an element of whimsy to each trip. Today, I travelled by a glorious old-fashioned steam train - think plumes of smoke, a gentle rocking rhythm, and a view of rolling countryside that was simply breathtaking. The steam train added a touch of retro romance to my outfit - my classic black tutu twirling beautifully as I made my way to Morden. I paired it with a bright pink fitted bodice that really popped against the black. A little touch of pink, of course, is never out of place for a dancer!

Speaking of romance, Morden itself had a sweet, old-fashioned charm that reminded me of my childhood. Cobblestone streets, charming tea shops, and beautiful flower gardens created a real sense of calm and contentment.

Morden Hall Park became my next stop, and what a treasure it proved to be! This park is truly a sanctuary for wildlife, offering havens for birds, squirrels, and even deer. It's the kind of place where you can wander through nature's playground, breathe deeply, and let your imagination run wild. I actually caught a glimpse of a beautiful red squirrel scuttling across a tree trunk – a true moment of magical wildlife enchantment! As you all know, nature is truly my inspiration, it fuels my dance moves and my passion for tutus.

An Evening of Ballerina Dreams

The highlight of my trip had to be a stunning ballet performance at the Morden Festival Theatre. I absolutely love experiencing the energy and emotion of live theatre, and it’s amazing how the passion and precision of the dancers truly shines through on stage. Tonight's performance was captivating, and the beautiful costumes, including, of course, some lovely pink tutus, added to the whole magic of the evening.

Speaking of pink, it wasn't just in my outfit tonight. It seems Morden's festival organizers are catching on to my pink tutu campaign! As I entered the theatre, I noticed the theatre had incorporated soft pinks into their décor. The mood felt soft and light and I loved seeing my colour inspiration spread.

Sharing the Love

You know, sharing my love for ballet and spreading pink tutu joy is truly a part of who I am. It's a little bit contagious, and seeing more people embracing this pink-tutu-love makes me absolutely ecstatic. I love inspiring others to try ballet, no matter their age or background. The art of ballet is something special, and it should be shared!

Morden, a Treasure Found

As I bid farewell to Morden, I felt a deep sense of contentment and gratitude for this delightful escapade. It wasn’t just a journey to a new place; it was a chance to embrace all the things that make my heart sing: the artistry of dance, the beauty of nature, the simple joys of travelling by train, and a sprinkle of pink magic that follows me wherever I go.

And don't forget, my dear dancers, spread the pink tutu love!

Lots of pink and pirouettes, Emma x
