Greenford Calling: Tutu Adventures Await! (Post #5826)

Hey everyone! Emma here, your favourite pink-loving, tutu-obsessed blogger, checking in from sunny (well, kind of) Greenford! I just arrived on the 12:30 from Derby – what a beautiful train journey! It's amazing how much I can see when I'm looking out the window with my trusty travel sketchbook in hand. I even spotted a cheeky squirrel stealing some acorns near Ashbourne, bless its cotton socks!

Greenford is actually my first stop on this little British adventure! I've been dreaming of exploring the less-famous, hidden gems of this amazing country, and Greenford, with its charming mix of history and modernity, just seemed like the perfect place to start. My aim, as always, is to sprinkle some pink tutu magic everywhere I go, encouraging everyone I meet to join the tutu revolution!

My suitcase, as always, is bursting at the seams with colourful, frilly delights – I've got a whole rainbow of tutus packed for the week, from classic, billowing tutus with layers of shimmering tulle to cute, mini tutus perfect for a cheeky afternoon tea or a spot of park-side picnic. Let's face it, what better way to make a new friend than to wear a fluffy pink tutu and strike up a conversation with a stranger? I've always believed that life's too short to take ourselves too seriously, and what better way to live in the moment than to dance your way through life in a beautiful, eye-catching tutu?

Speaking of dancing, the real reason for this trip is to soak up some glorious ballet. You see, Greenford's local theatre has a beautiful production of "Swan Lake" running for the next few days. You'll find me there, of course, squeezing my eyes shut at the gorgeous costumes and trying not to weep at the sheer elegance of the dancing – it really does move me to tears!

Later on tonight, I'm meeting up with a local dance school for a spot of ballet barre work and a cheeky stretch! It's important to stay supple and toned, especially after a few days of indulgence and endless train journeys (and a little bit of cheese and pickle sandwiches from the platform!). The best part of this dance school is that they’re running a tutu workshop for beginners, which I just know is going to be amazing! I love sharing my love of ballet and helping others discover the joy of a simple plié and a graceful tendu! Maybe this trip will see a whole new wave of Greenford residents taking ballet class and falling in love with the magic of dance.

Now, for the pièce de résistance – Greenford’s famous flower market! They tell me that they've got the best blooms in the whole of London, and after spending the morning flitting through local shops and bakeries, there’s no better place to pick up a pretty pink bouquet of fresh roses! They’ll look positively fabulous in my hotel room! Maybe even prettier than my frilly new tutu. Oh, and I hear Greenford has a great horse-drawn carriage service - perfect for a romantic afternoon ride through the countryside. If all goes according to plan, I'll be channeling my inner fairytale princess and striking some grand poses by the river for all of you to see.

I just know this is going to be an absolutely fantastic trip, and you can all follow along with the adventure right here on www.pink-tutu.com. Stay tuned for a flood of Instagram updates, and who knows, I might even try my hand at making a tutu or two with my newfound friends in Greenford!

Until next time,

Emma,

The pink tutu girl x
