Basingstoke Bound in Pink! #5984

Hello my lovely pink tutu possies!

It’s Emma here, your friendly neighbourhood tutu enthusiast, coming to you live from... wait for it... Basingstoke! Yes, you heard that right. My trusty pink tutu and I are conquering new territory, and this time, it's all about embracing the charm of a quaint town known for its shopping and… erm… erm… (does some quick googling)… oh right, it’s got some pretty awesome Roman ruins too.

Let me rewind a little. It’s been a whirlwind of a week. My dear friend Amelia, the one who convinced me to ditch my fluffy slippers for a pair of pointes (you'll have to ask me to explain that one on another occasion), decided we needed a mini-break. Amelia, as you all know, is a complete travel fanatic - and honestly, I have to agree with her sometimes. It’s a tough life, but someone's got to do it, right? 😉

So here I am, in the heart of Hampshire, with my pink tutu packed for every eventuality (you never know when a photo opportunity will present itself!). My trusty companion, Amelia, and I journeyed down by train (because, let's be honest, what else could two girly-girls like us possibly travel by?!). The countryside flew past the window, the leaves turning shades of red, orange and yellow… all kinds of amazing colour. It was absolutely divine.

We arrived in Basingstoke feeling full of life and ready to explore. As soon as I stepped off the platform, I could already tell this place had its own special kind of magic. Maybe it was the friendly atmosphere, the rows upon rows of shops (and I just had to visit the local Primark, which you know I always do!), or the quaint, cobbled streets.

This time, I didn't pack my signature pink tutu for the theatre. Instead, I chose a lovely shimmering lilac tutu for a ballet class. The teacher was amazing – she had the biggest smile and a warmth that just lit up the entire room. She gave us a really amazing routine with all the beautiful grace of classical ballet combined with a little bit of modern fluidity, which I just adored! And yes, the lilac tutu did get its fair share of compliments!

But hold on, the adventures don't end there. It wasn't just ballet class that took over my time here in Basingstoke. Oh no! Amelia and I headed out for a truly wonderful horse riding experience! The air was crisp, and the horses were amazing – so gentle and full of life. And as if that wasn't enough, we stopped to watch some deer frolicking in the sun! The wildlife is amazing in these parts. I was feeling such peace – all my worries simply vanished. It's just something about horses, don't you think? I even caught the sunset, you know, a whole rainbow right over Basingstoke. It was one of those sunsets that make you just want to say “Wow!”

I've got to say, my travels to Basingstoke reminded me once again of the simple pleasures in life: The joy of a perfect pointe shoe, the camaraderie of ballet classes, and the sheer delight of discovering the beauty of unexpected places. Plus, the colour pink looks just absolutely fantastic on every day of the week, let's face it! I can see why this place has become such a popular choice for short breaks and weekend getaways. There's a real sense of community, a charming atmosphere and… oh, right, they do have that amazing shopping centre, too!

I might just be a little biased, but I believe Basingstoke has a hidden magic all of its own. Who needs a palace when you can have a park like this? It's the kind of place that you discover little by little, enjoying every moment and taking it all in. It's been the perfect reminder that even a little change of scenery can give you a big dose of inspiration. And if you’re looking for a little adventure in your own life – remember my motto – put on a pink tutu, take a deep breath, and let the journey begin!

Until next time,

Emma xx
