Burton Upon Trent - A Tutu-tiful Day Out! 🩰💖

Hey loves! It's Emma here, and today marks post number 6020 on www.pink-tutu.com! Can you believe it?! Feels like just yesterday I started this little blog, sharing my love of pink, tutus, and all things ballet. 🎉

Anyway, onto the adventures!

Today, I packed my trusty tutu bag and set off on a whirlwind day trip to Burton upon Trent! It felt positively sparkly getting there, riding a vintage steam train - all those carriage windows glittering in the sun - felt like a scene from a fairytale. 🚂

Burton upon Trent is a place I’ve wanted to visit for ages, mainly for its brewery heritage! Don’t worry, I wasn’t planning to do any beer tasting today (though perhaps I should have – a pink beer would be rather splendid!) Instead, I was drawn to the gorgeous, ornate architecture of Burton upon Trent’s old brewery buildings. I felt so inspired, imagining the ballerinas of yesteryear twirling around in those beautiful old courtyards… 🩰

My heart skipped a beat as I saw a tiny, perfectly formed shop called “The Tutu Boutique!” My first purchase? A gorgeous, bright pink, fluffy tutu adorned with silver glitter! You'll have to forgive my excessive sparkle enthusiasm, it's simply irresistible!

After my sparkly haul, I had lunch at a charming café called "The Ballerina's Delight." They had the most fabulous menu with pink and pink-inspired treats – everything from pink macarons to a “Pink Lady” salad! It was truly delightful, and made me feel like I was part of a ballet-themed tea party.

In the afternoon, I found myself mesmerised by the National Brewery Centre – it’s a whole museum dedicated to brewing history! Imagine all those giant, ancient copper vats, their smooth surfaces reflecting light… the inspiration! 💫 I'd love to have a tutu designed in a bold, vibrant copper-bronze inspired by these giants. (You know how I love colour inspiration!).

Then it was on to a real highlight! I managed to catch a local performance of “The Nutcracker.” You just can't beat the Christmas magic! All the adorable children in their bright pink costumes (oh how I wish they knew they were future tutu queens! 💕) filled me with such joy, and then of course the professional dancers absolutely stole the show – graceful, powerful, absolutely mesmerising!

As the sun dipped behind the beautiful Victorian architecture, it was time to head back home, leaving Burton upon Trent with a renewed spirit and my heart filled with the magic of ballet and pinkness. ✨

This day out reminds me why I’m so passionate about promoting ballet and bringing the sparkle into everyday life. It doesn’t have to be a “special” occasion – why not wear a pink tutu while strolling around your local town, or whip up a ballet-themed tea party with your friends? Every day is an opportunity to celebrate beauty and grace.

And as for the ultimate dream? It’s a pink-tutu filled world where everyone understands the sheer joy and power of dance, where the grace and artistry of ballet is appreciated by everyone.

And with that, I’m signing off for today! Catch you tomorrow, lovelies! 😘

Until then, spread the tutu love, Emma

P.S. Don’t forget to leave a comment below and let me know what your favourite ballet is! I’d love to hear from you all. 💖
