Finchley Fun with a Fancy Tutu! 🩰

Post Number 6031

Hello darlings! 👋

Emma here, your resident tutu-loving travel enthusiast, back with another fabulous adventure. Today I’m whisking you all away to charming Finchley, North London – a place I've been meaning to explore for ages!

As many of you know, I’m a huge fan of travelling by train. There’s something utterly romantic about watching the countryside whizz by, especially when you’re wrapped up in a fluffy pink cardigan with a matching, oh-so-fancy tutu peeking out. 😉 My train journey today was pure bliss – even the inevitable delay couldn’t dampen my spirits. It was the perfect opportunity to delve into the latest ballet magazines and lose myself in the intricate steps of my favourite ballerinas.

Once I arrived in Finchley, the first order of business was finding a charming little café to indulge in a spot of afternoon tea. Now, you can’t have afternoon tea without some dainty cakes and sandwiches, and oh my, did this café deliver! There was a divine raspberry macaroon and a delectable smoked salmon finger sandwich that practically melted in my mouth. Absolutely divine!

After my sugary treat, I ventured out to explore Finchley’s bustling high street. It was filled with quirky shops and charming little boutiques, all brimming with adorable treasures just begging to be discovered. And you know me, I’m never one to turn down a good browse! I even snagged myself a gorgeous vintage brooch that would look simply fabulous on my pink satin tutu.

Of course, no trip to Finchley would be complete without a visit to the lovely Finchley Memorial Hall. It’s an elegant little theatre, the kind that just makes you feel transported back in time. They were holding a fantastic ballet workshop, which I simply couldn't resist. Imagine, learning some fancy steps and twirls in such a beautiful setting! I even got to borrow a stunning blue tutu with feathers – talk about a fabulous day out!

Later, I decided to treat myself to a proper evening of entertainment at the charming Finchley Cinema. I adore those vintage cinemas with plush velvet seats and flickering projectors. I ended up seeing a classic silent movie, “The Passion of Joan of Arc”, accompanied by live piano music – so atmospheric!

After the movie, I meandered through the streets of Finchley, soaking up the late evening atmosphere. There were groups of people strolling along, street musicians playing gentle melodies, and the air filled with the scent of lavender. It was pure magic.

As I made my way back to the train station, I felt a sense of deep contentment. I’ve had such a wonderful day, filled with culture, fashion, and just the right amount of sweetness. You know me, I always try to sprinkle a bit of magic into every day, and today was no exception.

Before I sign off, I have a little something for you – a bit of a challenge, you could say! How about we make “Wear a Pink Tutu Day” a thing? Imagine a world filled with twirls and graceful leaps! Think of all the smiles it would bring! You can even pick a colour that best suits your personality: emerald green for a touch of drama, a vibrant purple for a playful touch, or a bold crimson for a dash of fiery spirit. The possibilities are endless!

Until next time, my dear darlings, may your days be filled with sparkle, laughter, and a touch of pink.

With love and twirls,

Emma
