Ellesmere Port: A Whirlwind of Pink and Tutu! (Post #6046)

Hello lovelies! Emma here, fresh from a whirlwind trip to the charming town of Ellesmere Port. I know, I know - a bit of a change from my usual Parisian haunts, but I’m always up for a good adventure, and the promise of a truly fabulous tutu workshop at The Brindley Theatre just had to be experienced!

As many of you know, I'm a firm believer in making ballet accessible to everyone, and what better way to do that than by heading out to new, unexpected corners of the UK, spreading the joy of the tutu? This trip, I decided to get there in style - what’s more glamorous than arriving in a beautiful little town by train?

Now, if you've followed me for any length of time, you’ll know I love pink (pink is just me), and of course, I always pack a dazzling pink tutu whenever I travel, because one can never have too much pink and too many tutus! (Honestly, I'm not sure what the world would do without them! 😂). This time, I went for a fabulous, European-style creation, adorned with gorgeous embroidery and ribbons, that really made my fellow passengers do a double-take.

As the train chugged along, I spotted a majestic flock of wild geese overhead - nature truly is incredible, don’t you think?

Reaching Ellesmere Port, the buzz of excitement built as I headed towards the The Brindley Theatre. This venue is truly beautiful! I couldn't resist snapping a few pictures in the gorgeous, ornate foyer, the vibrant red and gold paint reflecting beautifully in my tutu’s intricate embellishments.

Inside the studio, the air was filled with the magic of ballet. The workshop was an absolute dream, filled with fellow tutu enthusiasts and aspiring ballerinas of all ages! It was like stepping into a scene straight out of one of my favourite ballet stories! We worked on everything, from delicate extensions and graceful bourrées to those fun and bouncy leaps I love.

The teacher, a lovely woman named Jessica, was incredibly patient and encouraging, with an infectious passion for ballet. She even introduced me to some local dance routines, showcasing some fantastic regional moves that had me dancing my heart out!

What I truly adore about ballet is its ability to connect people. The workshop brought everyone together, sharing a passion for graceful movements and stories told through the body. The studio, a temporary home for us, was abuzz with laughter and joy, and even though many of us were complete strangers, the energy was absolutely electric!

Before leaving, I just had to explore a bit of the lovely town itself! Ellesmere Port holds a fascinating history, with its connection to the famous Ellesmere Canal, and of course, the Cheshire countryside, dotted with quaint villages and fields filled with gorgeous wildlife.

Honestly, I was totally charmed by this beautiful little town! As I left, I waved goodbye to a beautiful, cloud-dusted sky, reflecting in the peaceful canal waters, and knew this trip had made me want to explore more of the hidden gems of the UK!

If you're thinking of stepping out of your comfort zone and trying a tutu for the first time, I urge you to do it! Ballet has transformed my life - it's taught me discipline, fostered creativity, and connected me with like-minded people from all over the world. It's not just a dance style, it's a lifestyle!

So, if you're looking for your own adventure, get out there, embrace the joy, and - most importantly - get yourself a fabulous pink tutu. I can't wait to see your posts, ladies!

Yours in twirls and pink,

Emma xoxo
