Cheshunt Calling! Tutu Travels Take on the Rails

Hello my lovely lot! Today's tutu travels took me right out of the Derbyshire dales and onto the train to the sunny (okay, maybe a touch overcast) shores of Cheshunt!

You see, ever since I first saw the trailer for that breathtaking production of 'Giselle' last year, I've been itching to see it for myself. This gorgeous, classically-themed production at the lovely Hertford Theatre is just the ticket. Not only does it promise all the swirling elegance and intricate footwork I love, but also those wonderful, story-driven aspects that really bring a performance alive. It's practically begging me to break out my most romantic tutu - I mean, how can I resist a beautiful production like that, with a story like that, without rocking a romantic pink, tulle creation?

Of course, a girl's gotta eat! And no journey to Cheshunt would be complete without a little pit stop in the heart of the town itself. I love exploring a new town through its restaurants - it's like dipping my toes into the local culture, one flavourful mouthful at a time. Plus, who doesn't love a delicious lunch on a Tuesday afternoon?

My lunch spot, "The Little Bloomery," was absolutely divine! They had the most charmingly rustic decor, and the menu was full of home-style treats that reminded me of my grandmother's baking - except, you know, much more refined. The smell of freshly baked bread drifting through the air was heavenly! I couldn't resist ordering a delightful soup and a salad (with, of course, a generous dollop of whipped cream, because a girl's gotta have a little treat!)

And speaking of treats, let's not forget the ballet itself! "Giselle" truly was everything I hoped for and more! The dancers, breathtaking in their precision and grace, spun stories with every pirouette and grand jetรฉ. The passion in their performance literally moved me, pulling me right into the story of love, betrayal, and redemption. I might have even shed a tear or two (I know, I know, I'm such a sap!), but it's those heart-tugging emotions that really make ballet so powerful, don't you think?

Of course, no trip is complete without some photo opportunities - this is, after all, a tutu blogger's gotta do! And Cheshunt didn't disappoint. I found a gorgeous, floral-filled archway tucked away in a quiet corner of town, the perfect spot for a whimsical twirl. Let's just say my tutu did some serious strutting in the afternoon sunlight! And I can't wait to share those pics with you all (they're already up on Instagram!).

You know, sometimes it's those little moments - like finding a hidden garden, spotting a delicate wildflower peeking through the concrete, or watching a playful squirrel scamper up a tree - that truly capture the essence of a place. Cheshunt, despite being just a quick train journey from home, truly felt like a world away. Maybe it's because it's got a beautiful little countryside charm that made me think of lazy afternoons spent wandering through wildflowers and listening to the sound of birdsong.

But, no matter how many train rides I take or how many new towns I discover, one thing will always remain the same: my love for ballet and the magic it holds. Every new production, every new dance studio, every new dancer I meet sparks joy and inspires me to keep spreading the message: the world needs more twirls, more grace, and more beautiful pink tutus.

That's all for today, darlings. Be sure to visit the site tomorrow for more Tutu Travels!

Lots of love,

Emma
