Newbury Adventures: A Pink Tutu and a Wild Horse Encounter (Post #6102)

Hey lovely dancers!

It's Emma here, and today's adventures have been a whirlwind of tutus, train rides, and… wild horses?! You heard me right. But first, let's talk tutus, because a trip isn't truly a trip for me without a new one, is it?

This time, I decided to go for an American style tutu, complete with loads of fluffy layers of pink tulle. Oh my goodness, it was divine. Imagine it: pink tulle like a fluffy cloud, billowing around my ankles as I skipped across the platform at Paddington Station. I'm sure I caused quite a stir. I'm not one for subtlety, you see!

Train Tracks and Tutus:

The journey to Newbury was as enchanting as ever. My love affair with train travel continues to flourish - there's something magical about being transported by steam and steel, watching the scenery whizz by. The sun was out, the sky was a beautiful cerulean blue, and the landscape was dotted with green fields and charming villages. It was the perfect backdrop for a pink tutu, I tell you!

A Touch of Romance at the Newbury Theatre:

Newbury itself is a beautiful little town with a certain charm. The main attraction for me was the Newbury Theatre. Oh, the history, the atmosphere, the whispers of countless performances echoing in the old brick walls! I spent a wonderful afternoon browsing their costume archive, a haven for all things theatrical, and found myself totally absorbed in the history of theatre costume design. Did you know they have a real life "ballet shoes" shoe-maker in the building? Swoon!

Of course, no visit to Newbury is complete without taking a twirl or two on the theatre stage. It was magical to imagine countless performers taking to that very space over the years. And trust me, you haven't really experienced the joy of ballet until you've danced on a real theatre stage!

A Wild Horse Encounter

Now, onto the wilder side of my day. I'm not going to lie, after the theatrical extravaganza I was feeling pretty exhausted. I decided to walk the short distance from the theatre back to the train station to get a breath of fresh air and gather my thoughts. This was where things got a bit crazy. I was passing a lovely field with sheep grazing peacefully, when out of nowhere, a wild horse galloped right past me, causing the sheep to scatter! Imagine - me in my pink tutu and a majestic, wild horse just a few feet away. My camera was just a little bit slow, but the scene was quite unforgettable! The horse eventually joined his family, who were just grazing peacefully, and I had a little laugh with the sheep who looked up in wonder as they brushed past my legs, oblivious to the commotion.

It was like a scene straight out of a fairytale! I love that you can have experiences like that in a town like Newbury - the unexpected charm just adds to the magic of the journey.

A Reminder To Follow Your Dreams:

Remember, darlings, you don't need to live in a city like London to have exciting adventures! Newbury was a testament to that. You just need a little bit of imagination and a good pair of dance shoes.

If there's something you've always dreamed of doing, do it! Don't wait, don't let fear hold you back. Grab a tutu, jump on a train, go see a play, visit the wild side of things! You might just be surprised what you find.

The Pink Tutu Way:

I always say: wear pink, twirl hard, and spread the joy of ballet. We all deserve a little bit of magic in our lives, and ballet has a way of bringing that out. Don't be afraid to be a little bit flamboyant, a little bit crazy. Life is too short to blend in, darling!

Now, tell me - what's your favourite way to get around? Do you love ballet performances like I do? Have you ever met a wild horse? Share your adventures in the comments below!
