Cleethorpes Calling: A Tutu Adventure in Red

Hello darlings! It’s Emma here, writing to you from the sunny (and yes, a bit windy!) coast of Cleethorpes. As you know, I’m a firm believer in living life to the fullest, and that often means a spontaneous jaunt to a new destination, especially when there’s the chance to dance, twirl and yes, show off a little pink tutu magic!

Today's outfit? A striking red tutu - just a little something to add a splash of vibrant energy to the already cheerful seaside scene. Red might seem like an unlikely colour choice for me, the Queen of Pink, but believe me, it's just as sassy and fun! Plus, it perfectly matched the energy of this bustling, coastal town.

How did I get here? Well, let’s just say there’s nothing quite like the romantic charm of a journey by train. As the steamy engine chugged along, I felt that familiar rush of excitement. There’s something so magical about travelling by train; it’s almost like stepping into another time, with its rich history and unhurried rhythm. Imagine, a train carriage full of giggling, pink-clad ladies like myself, all headed to Cleethorpes for a weekend of dancing, laughter, and perhaps a spot of fish and chips (what else?!)

Cleethorpes welcomed me with open arms (or perhaps I should say open beaches!) The bracing sea air filled my lungs with energy and invigorated my senses. I made my way straight to the pier – it’s one of those quintessentially British attractions, a timeless place filled with laughter and the promise of joyful adventures.

After indulging in a scrumptious fish and chip supper – always a highlight on any seaside adventure! - I headed for a lovely local ballet class, organised by a friendly, local ballet group. It was so much fun! I love finding hidden treasures like this; tucked away studios where ballet flourishes, where everyone's encouraged to unleash their inner dancer. It’s like discovering a secret ballet society, one filled with warmth, laughter and a whole lot of pirouette enthusiasm.

But the day didn’t end there, my dears. This was Cleethorpes, after all! So, as the sun began to set, casting a warm glow on the shoreline, I decided to try my hand at the thrilling (and perhaps slightly terrifying!) experience of horseback riding. Believe it or not, I’d always wanted to experience this kind of adventure - cantering across the sands, feeling the wind in my hair and the rhythm of the horse beneath me. The horses, gracious creatures with kind eyes, made the whole experience an absolute delight!

As darkness descended, the pier came alive with twinkling lights. I walked along the illuminated walkway, letting the gentle breeze carry away my worries. It’s incredible how just a few hours in a new place can have such a restorative effect, I think this is the magic of travel.

Tomorrow, I’m heading for a local wildlife sanctuary. I love discovering beautiful, unexpected wildlife spots during my travels - a bit like stumbling upon a hidden oasis in the desert, you never know what you'll find! And what's more perfect for a tutu-wearing explorer than a stroll among graceful swans, majestic falcons and curious squirrels? I imagine I’ll be tutu-twirling amidst the trees, perhaps even striking a few graceful ballet poses for the benefit of the local fauna.

Of course, I’ll be sure to bring my camera - a picture simply cannot capture the magic of this place, but I'll do my best to bring its beautiful moments to life.

Until tomorrow darlings!

And, as always, if you are feeling adventurous, wear a tutu and go explore a place you've never been before - you never know what memories you'll make!

Love,

Emma xxx
