TutuBlog: #6115 - A Sporty Tutu Adventure in Arnold!

Pinkalicious peeps! It's Emma here, back from a whirlwind weekend adventure that saw me swap my usual ballet barre for some serious* countryside rambling*! And yes, you guessed it, I still managed to rock a tutu (naturally)! 💖

Now, I know what you're thinking, "Emma, a tutu in the wilds of Arnold?! You must be mad!" And to that I say, absolutely not! Sometimes, you've got to take your love of twirling to new heights, and what better place to do it than surrounded by the beauty of the English countryside?

This weekend, I hopped on the train, (much more civilised than travelling by horse for once!) and headed down to Arnold, a beautiful little village in Nottinghamshire, for a dose of fresh air and scenic splendour! The air was crisp, the sky was blue (a perfect setting for a pink tutu, obviously), and I was ready to explore!

Before setting off on my adventure, I had to give myself a good ballerina prep. This involved a quick plié and some échappé work, followed by a healthy breakfast of croissants and fruit (what's a girl gotta do to keep her ballet body fueled? 😂). I slipped into my new sporty pink tutu, (a beautiful shade of fuchsia - almost like the roses in the village gardens!), and with a quick wave to my lovely derbyshire family back home, I was off on my tutu-fied escapade!

The first stop was the local nature reserve. A symphony of bird song greeted me as I walked down the path. The wildflowers were in bloom, adding a splash of vibrant colours to the landscape. It felt magical - I could imagine tiny fairies dancing amidst the delicate blooms! And my sporty tutu really allowed me to move with ease while enjoying the stunning scenery!

I spent hours lost in the beauty of nature, photographing everything from fluttering butterflies to proud peacocks ( I swear I caught them doing ballet poses!). The peaceful stillness of the reserve was so inspiring – it definitely fueled my inner ballerina. I even attempted a few twirls amidst the vibrant blossoms, which, to my delight, resulted in some beautiful photos.

My next adventure involved a visit to the charming local village of Arnold. Cotswold-style buildings lined the cobbled streets, their quaint shop fronts filled with treasures that beckoned me to explore. I discovered a charming little café and treated myself to a delicious slice of pink iced cake. (I really can't help myself!)

After indulging in sugar-fueled bliss I was ready for more exploration! I wandered past the local church and into a peaceful park, where a group of kids were having a ballet class under the warm sun! The gentle movements and grace on display filled me with such joy. These children were the future of ballet and it was wonderful to see such passion and dedication at such a young age!

I must confess, I couldn't resist joining in on the fun for a few minutes and showing off some of my own moves! After all, my aim in life is to make the world a more ballerina-fied place, and what better way to do it than sharing the love of dance with the future generation?

Later, I indulged in a splendid pub meal with a side of ballet gossip and dreams of future adventures! It really was a perfect day in the English countryside!

But my journey wasn't quite over. After an early night at a charming little B&B (which thankfully accommodated my ballerina needs!) I set off early the next morning, back to the world of nature. This time, I discovered a hidden lake, its calm waters reflecting the blues and greens of the surrounding trees. I couldn't help but imagine a ballet scene unfolding - the graceful movements of the dancers mirrored in the lake, creating a magical spectacle!

It was a perfect end to a perfect weekend. I headed back to Derbyshire with a re-energized soul, a pink tutu slightly less pristine, but full of stories to tell.

So, pinkalicious peeps, remember to step outside your comfort zone, whether it’s to try a new activity, take a spontaneous trip, or simply twirl in a tutu in a field of daisies. Embrace life’s adventures and let your inner ballerina shine! 💖

And remember, you can read all about my adventures daily on www.pink-tutu.com! Until next time, happy twirling! 😄

Love,

Emma xx
