Spalding Calling! Tutu Time Adventures - Post 6137

Hey darlings!

Well, here I am again, your friendly neighbourhood pink tutu wearing ballet bunny, ready to spill the tea on another fab adventure! Today, I'm trading the rolling Derbyshire hills for the flatlands of Lincolnshire - heading to Spalding, specifically, for a spot of ballet-inspired bliss.

I’ve always been a fan of exploring new places, and honestly, what’s more delightful than experiencing a new town, a new venue, and of course, some fantastic dance performances? There's nothing like a good ballet to lift the spirits, right? Especially when paired with the perfect outfit! This time I decided on a little European twist with my tutu - a little shorter, a little fluffier, a whole lot of sass! And you know me, always gotta incorporate pink somewhere, so I paired it with a cherry blossom pink silk top, feeling all sorts of dreamy and graceful!

The train ride was delightful - watching the English countryside fly by is so calming. It's like a soothing visual meditation before a day filled with all the ballet-filled delights. I swear, it's my favourite form of transport! Maybe it's the windows, the breeze, the way you can just sit back and watch the world go by…

Speaking of world going by, my journey wasn't entirely devoid of nature-related joys. As the train glided past a vast field, I saw a family of hares bounding across, their little cotton tails bouncing like little puffs of clouds. It was magical! And I just knew that I had to have a little giggle about how they could probably teach a few humans a thing or two about elegant leaping and effortless grace! 😉

Finally, I arrived at my destination: the beautiful historic Spalding Theatre. It was even grander in person than in pictures, with elegant high ceilings and a sweeping grand staircase leading up to the main entrance. It felt like a step back in time, a real treat for the senses. It already felt like the perfect setting for a grand ballet performance, and honestly, the excitement bubbled in me as I was greeted by friendly staff and felt the buzz of fellow dance lovers. I'm telling you, the vibe is something else, you know you're among kindred spirits.

And oh, the performance itself was absolutely divine! They brought the classics to life with a contemporary twist, creating this beautiful harmony between tradition and innovation. It was captivating, elegant, and oh, so emotional! There were leaps, twirls, pirouettes – you name it, they did it with so much grace and power. I've gotta admit, watching a performance always makes me want to hit the studio for a good practice session! And speaking of practice, there's a fantastic local ballet school here in Spalding. I couldn't resist dropping in for a class, just to feel that glorious, free-flowing energy. You know I've got that tiny bit of dancer in me that can never stay still! It felt like reconnecting with a part of me that feels at home in the studio, and the instructors are simply delightful, so warm and welcoming.

I've found that the love for dance, that connection, it's universal. I'm not saying it has to be a ballet, you can dance, sway, spin, to your favourite song, and the joy will radiate from your very being. So go on, give it a try! It’s a feeling like no other!

But wait, there's more! After all that fabulous ballet action, I couldn’t leave Spalding without experiencing a touch of its culinary magic. So, I treated myself to a delightful afternoon tea in one of the quaintest cafes in town, with beautiful pastel pink teacups and plates and scones as big as my head (no exaggeration!). This adorable cafe had walls adorned with ballet posters, proving that my love for ballet is everywhere. Even if I didn't spot a tutu hanging up!

Spalding - a must-visit, truly! It's the perfect mix of charm, culture, and some fabulous dance-fuelled adventures. It's a reminder that ballet and all its loveliness is right around the corner. You just have to look for it.

Don't forget my mission! We can all spread the joy, the love, and of course, the pink tutu power. Who's with me?

Now, excuse me, I have a date with my comfy sofa, a glass of rose, and maybe some of that gorgeous tutu-inspired music. Because, honestly, it doesn't get better than this.

Stay stylish and dance your hearts out,

Love,

Emma x
