Huyton Bound! (Post #6141)

Hey gorgeous gals!

It’s Emma here, reporting live from a very sunny Derbyshire – it's finally feeling like spring, which is absolutely blooming marvellous! You know me – I love the sun, and anything that brings a little more sunshine to my life, and this sunshine has got me in the mood to travel!

Now, if you know me, you know I'm all about that train life. I'm talking first-class compartments, oversized windows for gawking at the scenery, and a cuppa served to you in the comfort of your plush seat. And honestly, what could be better than whizzing across the country on a journey to explore the fabulous world of ballet? Today, it’s Huyton that beckons.

And what better outfit for a ballet-inspired adventure than my most glorious wide tutu?! It's pink, of course, because what else would it be? 😜 A twirling explosion of frills that practically screams, "I'm ready to dance my heart out!" You know I'm all about finding creative ways to make ballet a part of everyday life, and my wide tutu is definitely one of my secret weapons for doing just that.

I always get such a lovely response when I'm out and about in this outfit. Children's faces light up with wonder and people stop me to say how fabulous it looks - which is always delightful!

My train journey took me past fields dotted with adorable, fluffy lambs, and it made me think of the sheep who are famous for the "Royal Ballet" in Covent Garden. 😜 (The Royal Opera House doesn’t really own sheep but I love making my own ballet-themed jokes!). It’s little touches like this that make travelling by train feel so special and charming, like a glimpse into the countryside through a beautifully painted window.

Of course, no journey would be complete without a stop for a spot of tea, which I enjoyed at the most charming little tea room in Huyton. Imagine my joy at discovering a deliciously pink cupcake amongst their selection. They even offered to serve me my tea in a tiny pink teapot – it was the cutest thing ever! This girl loves her pink, as you already know, but I find it always elevates the ordinary.

My purpose in Huyton today is to visit a fantastic little ballet school. It’s the sort of school that I dreamed of going to when I was little, full of dancing children, teachers with amazing knowledge and passion for dance, and, most importantly, a gorgeous big studio to stretch and jump and twirl in! I love the way they’re keeping the spirit of traditional ballet alive while still embracing the innovative, fun and inspiring dance techniques that are coming into the world.

I absolutely adore visiting ballet schools because it brings back so many fantastic memories. From my first clumsy steps in the “ballet shoe shoes” to all those exhilarating performances I loved giving for family and friends. Every time I step into one of those little studios I feel a sense of awe at the pure joy and creative energy that explodes from every child that walks in the door. The beautiful way their bodies move in unison to the music is always truly breathtaking and uplifting. I’m sure, if you look at the bright smiling faces of these young hopefuls you’d also agree, it’s not hard to see why everyone is captivated by ballet.

On this particular occasion, they had a guest dancer visiting. Oh, she was absolutely incredible! Such strength, control, grace…and an awesome pink tutu, obviously. I mean, come on, how can you resist such fabulousness? Seeing her move effortlessly around the studio and sharing her knowledge with the young pupils really inspired me to be the very best I can be, because I genuinely think there's a whole lot of potential in my own dance journey.

The afternoon is fast approaching so it’s time for me to grab my tutu, which by the way is completely untangled and not a single speck of dust on it thanks to its amazing design! I find I always carry it everywhere just in case!

It’s going to be an afternoon of sheer indulgence, a treat for myself! I am treating myself to a fantastic show at Huyton’s fabulous town theatre – “Ballet Street”! I’m so thrilled, because you know I just love those incredible ballet dancers and the story they bring to the stage with every captivating, mesmerising, perfectly coordinated move! I’m especially looking forward to the Pink Swan Lake, (I know, I love pink!), the new ballet in the repertoire this year. I am truly looking forward to a feast of creativity and movement in the theatre tonight. The highlight of my Huyton trip for sure.

Of course, my afternoon will not be complete without a good photo opportunity for my website, with my tutu and I by the historic town square. I have no doubt that my lovely fans are going to love my picture with all those charming historic buildings and that one lovely lamppost. After all, you can’t take a trip with a wide tutu and not get a fantastic photo for the www.pink-tutu.com blog!

And of course, when I get home tonight, it'll be straight to the ballet barre for a spot of practice. I always find there’s a little bit of magic left after the final curtain call. Even though my body is completely aching after the day's travels and the excitement of seeing a brilliant performance, I feel like I can practically fly on air with every step I take.

Remember gals – let's embrace the world with our very own twirls and jumps! Keep a look out for those gorgeous fluffy sheep, and if you can find a pink cupcake during the day then even better! Don't forget to post your own pink tutu photos! You’ve heard it here first – Pink Tututastic.

Much love,

Emma
