TutuBlog #6158: Wishaw Wonderment in Yellow

Hello my lovely tutu-loving friends! It's Emma here, reporting live from the utterly charming town of Wishaw in Scotland, a place I've long dreamt of visiting!

Now, before I tell you all about my exciting day, let me confess something - I'm obsessed with the colour yellow! And I’m sure it’s no surprise to you lovely lot that my obsession translated into a very special tutu for this trip. Imagine, if you will, the sunshine yellow of a dandelion in bloom, radiating in all its glory! That was the hue that adorned my swirling skirt, perfectly complementing the bright blue sky that followed me across the countryside.

Speaking of the countryside, did I tell you how I arrived in this charming Scottish town? By train, of course! The journey was so picturesque. I spent hours glued to the window, mesmerized by the green fields dotted with grazing sheep and the distant mountains that looked like painted backdrops. It truly felt like a scene from a fairy tale, and I almost wished I had brought my book of fairy tales so I could get the perfect photo op for Instagram!

Now, I don't want to spoil the surprise, but I just had to mention my train adventure as it was a pre-show treat. What was the show, you ask? Why, the most exquisite ballet performance! You all know I live for those graceful moves, those stunning costumes, and the sheer emotion that ballet can evoke. This one, though, took the cake. The Wishaw Theatre, an absolute treasure trove of charm and history, hosted the "Nutcracker" like you've never seen it before!

Imagine a stage bathed in pink light, with the most captivating music that you could ever wish for! Then, picture ballerinas gliding across the stage in swirling pink tutus, their faces illuminated by an ethereal glow, the perfect picture of grace and elegance. This is exactly what I saw, and let me tell you, it made my heart soar! The delicate moves, the intricate footwork, and the passion they poured into their performance, well, it just made me want to dance along! I almost had to fight the urge to whip off my yellow tutu and join them!

After the show, I felt so inspired, I just had to try some ballet myself! The little dance school by the Wishaw train station just called to me. There I was, twirling and leaping alongside other aspiring ballerinas, a vision in my sunshine yellow tutu against a backdrop of beaming faces! They were such a lovely group, all so enthusiastic, and with my signature pink lipstick and yellow tutu, I fit right in! You can find me on YouTube, I’m doing my bit to encourage everyone to try ballet, don’t forget! It’s a lovely way to exercise and connect with your inner grace.

Before I end this entry, let’s talk wildlife, something that always sparks joy within me. While walking to the theatre, I stumbled upon a family of deer nestled in the heart of a woodland area just outside Wishaw. You can imagine my delight! They were so peaceful and serene, just gazing at me with their big, gentle eyes. I felt such a deep connection with these beautiful creatures. It was a reminder to always appreciate nature and the magic it holds.

Oh, and my travel tip for the day? Pack a warm blanket for those cool Scottish nights. Even if you have a stunning yellow tutu on, a warm blanket is a must for a good night’s sleep.

Well, that’s it for my adventures today in the heart of Scotland, but this is not the end of my adventures. Tomorrow I’m galloping through the Scottish highlands, my steed of choice a gentle grey gelding I found at a local riding stable. I will let you know all about it in my next post, so please remember to check in at www.pink-tutu.com tomorrow! Until then, wear your best pink tutu and let’s make the world a more fabulous place, one pink tutu at a time.

Lots of love,

Emma x
