Hello darlings!
Emma here, your resident tutu enthusiast, back with another installment of Pink-Tutu adventures. Today, I’m sharing all the twirls and thrills of my recent trip to the charming town of Ashington, nestled right there in the heart of Northumberland. I always say, you never know where a pink tutu can take you!
The Railway Romance
As a dedicated Pink-Tutu traveler, I often prefer a more scenic, old-fashioned mode of transport – that’s why I opted for the train this time. The journey itself was pure delight, with rolling green hills and charming countryside vistas flashing past the windows.
Now, don't get me wrong, I love the hustle and bustle of London as much as the next gal, but sometimes there's nothing more comforting than a good old-fashioned train ride. Something about the rhythmic click-clack of the wheels and the gentle swaying of the carriage just puts me in the perfect mood to get creative and jot down some thoughts for my blog! (And you just know I was scribbling in my little pink notepad the whole time, naturally!)
Ashington Calling!
Upon arrival in Ashington, I felt instantly charmed. The town exuded a friendly, welcoming atmosphere, with cobbled streets and little independent shops bursting with colour and character. Honestly, it reminded me so much of the Derbyshire towns I grew up in, with its charming blend of history and modern life.
A Pink Tutu's Delight
Of course, my main reason for visiting Ashington was its thriving arts scene. I had heard whispers of a magnificent theatre performance by the Ashington Ballet Company, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. I knew I had to document the whole experience in a way only a Pink-Tutu girl could: a dazzling pink tutu for the occasion, obviously!
Now, this was a show with true heart and passion! Every twirl, every jump, every grand jeté told a story, evoking such emotion. I was mesmerized, totally swept away by their graceful storytelling. And those stunning costumes? Well, they just screamed Pink-Tutu fabulous!
The Art of the Twirl
Speaking of twirling, it goes without saying that a visit to Ashington wasn't complete without popping into the local dance studio for a class! I met a lovely bunch of ladies there, all radiating passion and joy for ballet. And I can’t deny, a little peek at their adorable leotards and leg warmers just solidified my love for all things dance. I know, I know, it sounds like I have a thing for all things pink, dance-related and glamorous - and well, you know what they say: a girl can dream!
A Culinary Treat
My trip wouldn't have been complete without indulging in some local delicacies. The Ashington town centre was filled with cute little cafés and restaurants, and my tummy was singing with delight! (Especially after all that twirling and dancing, naturally.) I settled for a lovely homemade pie from a sweet little bakery – they certainly know how to do a pie up North! I even spotted a pink cupcake that reminded me of my own Pink-Tutu branding! It truly is the color of joy, don’t you think?
Wildlife Wonders
After all that city exploration and indulging in the arts scene, it was time to soak in some nature's tranquility. Luckily, Ashington was blessed with some beautiful green spaces, including a delightful little wildlife park. I even managed to spot a playful fox darting through the undergrowth - it's always amazing how wildlife finds its way even into the most unexpected places!
A Pink Tutu for All
You see, it doesn't matter if you're in the hustle and bustle of the city or exploring the picturesque countryside, a little pink tutu always adds a touch of whimsy and joy to any adventure!
