Coulsdon Calling! 🩰 Pink Tutu Adventures - Post #6181

Hello darlings! It's Emma, your favourite pink tutu-clad ballet enthusiast, and today, I'm writing to you from the delightful town of Coulsdon. I know what you're thinking, "Coulsdon?! Is there even a ballet studio there?". Well, my sweet friends, it might not be the heart of Covent Garden, but it has a certain charm and a fantastic little ballet class that stole my heart!

But let's back up a bit… This weekend has been a whirlwind! I embarked on a scenic train journey straight from Derbyshire – yes, I left the Peak District and its charming countryside behind for a couple of days, all for the love of ballet!

For this adventure, I had to pack a very special tutu – I was going for a splash of colour this time! It’s a cyan one, folks. I know, I know, I am usually all about pink, but sometimes a girl needs to break out of her comfort zone, right?

I actually have a little theory about cyan. It's like pink's little sister! The coolness of blue combined with the vibrancy of green just screams chic and makes me feel a little extra dramatic on pointe. (Did I mention I love Pointe shoes? Oh, the sheer joy of them!).

Anyways, enough about my tutu obsession – I swear I don't just talk about this all the time! cough, cough. So, as I said, Coulsdon! What an unexpected delight. I took a short walk around before my class, a little bit of exercise never hurts before leaping into ballet, right? (Get it?! Leaping?! 😂). This charming town just reminded me so much of the English countryside I love, those little shops with beautiful window displays, friendly locals, and… Oh my gosh! A whole menagerie of ducks just outside a park. It’s safe to say my heart melted. The sight of these adorable creatures is my weakness – don't get me wrong, I am obsessed with horses! I’m even learning how to ride right now. (Who says ballerinas can’t be cowboys?)

After my wildlife encounter, it was time to dive into the magical world of ballet! I mean, we're talking barre exercises, elegant movements, and the satisfying plop of landing gracefully in a penché – oh, what pure bliss! It was all that and more at this little studio I found.

Here’s a tip for you, darlings. It doesn't matter how big or small the town, there's always a hidden gem – a little community space that ignites your love for ballet, a space where you can truly be yourself, express yourself, and yes, you can totally rock that pink tutu there! Don’t be afraid to try, darling, it's amazing what you can find!

You know I always talk about pink tutus and my passion for ballet, but honestly, that passion is what pushes me to travel and see the world, to embrace new experiences. I believe in experiencing life with open arms, and what better way to do that than in a gorgeous tutu, dancing through the countryside or, like today, embracing a charming little town with the beauty of ballet.

But hey, it's not always about grand ballets or travelling in a fancy carriage (though a horse-drawn carriage ride in Coulsdon is something I must experience!). It's about finding those moments of joy, those hidden treasures, and embracing everything that makes life feel beautiful! And let's be honest, there is no better way to express joy than by leaping, twirling, and, of course, wearing pink tutus. And yes, the occasional cyan tutu… It's the colour of my weekend.

Right now, my darlings, I'm back in my favourite spot – in front of my computer, writing my heart out to all of you. This evening, I plan to watch a local theatre performance here. Don't worry, I'll keep you updated! In the meantime, my lovely ballet besties, keep spreading the joy of ballet, rock that pink (or cyan!) tutu, and remember, the world is waiting to be explored one plié at a time. Until next time!

Love, Emma 💕 www.pink-tutu.com
