Twickenham Calling! ๐Ÿฉฐ๐ŸŒธ

Hello my lovely Tutu Tribe! ๐Ÿ’‹ It's Emma here, bringing you Post #6302 straight from the heart of Twickenham! ๐ŸŽ‰

I've just arrived back from a glorious day at the Royal Ballet's tour, and oh my, let me tell you, it was simply divine. โœจ It's been ages since I last enjoyed a performance in this stunning venue - the acoustics, the history, the feeling of anticipation... it's magic! And of course, my vibrant yellow tutu added just the right touch of flamboyant fun to the occasion. ๐Ÿ˜‰

You know me, I always love a good ballet show, but there's something special about catching them away from home. Seeing the same faces from the Royal Opera House take centre stage in a different space just adds a layer of excitement. And then there are the train journeys... what can I say? I'm a sucker for the rhythmic clatter, the windows filled with passing countryside, and the anticipation building with every clickety-clack of the wheels. ๐Ÿฅฐ

And oh my goodness, what a day it has been! I was lucky enough to squeeze in a quick trip to Richmond Park earlier on - haven't been there in years, and it's just as magnificent as I remember! Deer prancing around, squirrels playing tag, a gorgeous blue sky above - it's like stepping into a Jane Austen novel, and I adore that timeless feeling. ๐ŸŒณ๐ŸฆŒ

But of course, the true highlight was the ballet! ๐ŸŒŸ The performance was beyond breathtaking - so much talent on stage, so much passion and precision, and that breathtaking blend of strength and grace, it truly captivated me! I felt like I was whisked away to another world - all the drama, the artistry, the feeling of connection... so magical!

After the show, I had the absolute pleasure of bumping into a lovely lady who seemed positively entranced by my tutu. ๐Ÿ˜Š Turns out she's an avid follower of my blog, and we spent a delightful hour chatting about all things ballet, pink, and the power of a good tutu to uplift and inspire! It always makes me smile to know my little blog has such a fantastic community of like-minded ladies (and gents!). ๐Ÿ’–

And talking of inspiration, let's talk about what truly fuelled this post-show pep in my step... a new recipe! ๐Ÿ˜‰ I just had to share this one with you, because honestly, it's a game-changer! A light, creamy, berrylicious delight, perfect for a ballet-inspired treat. It's my twist on a classic:

Pinkalicious Pavlova! (And yes, you can guess the secret ingredient!)

You'll need:

  • 6 large egg whites
  • 250g caster sugar
  • 2 teaspoons cornflour
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon pink food colouring
  • Whipped cream
  • Mixed berries (fresh or frozen, whichever you fancy)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 150ยฐC (Fan 130ยฐC).
  2. Line a baking sheet with baking paper.
  3. Whisk the egg whites until they form stiff peaks.
  4. Gradually add the sugar, whisking continuously until the meringue is thick and glossy.
  5. Gently fold in the cornflour, vinegar, and food colouring.
  6. Carefully spoon the mixture onto the baking sheet, shaping it into a large circle or whatever you prefer.
  7. Bake for 1 hour and 30 minutes, or until the meringue is dry and lightly browned on top.
  8. Once cooled, carefully transfer the meringue to a serving plate, and pile high with whipped cream and your favourite berries.

There you have it! An utterly delectable treat that's practically dancing on your tongue, just like my little pink tutu danced around Twickenham. ๐Ÿฉฐ๐Ÿ˜‹

I truly believe that everyone should give ballet a try. It's such a powerful art form - it builds confidence, boosts your fitness, and helps you tap into a deep sense of grace and expression. You might be surprised how much joy it can bring! โœจ

Until next time, stay radiant and dance like nobody's watching! ๐Ÿ’–

XOXO

Emma
