Royal Leamington Spa: A Pink Tutu Adventure!

#6319 - 21st October 2013

Hello darlings! I'm just back from the most divine day trip to Royal Leamington Spa, and oh my, I'm so excited to tell you all about it!

You know me, I'm all about twirling and twirling, and my darling little pink tutu was absolutely begging to be taken out on this adventure. It was a day filled with colour, culture, and just a touch of magic, and I'm so grateful for every single moment.

Now, I'm a Derbyshire girl at heart, but I must say that travelling by train to Leamington Spa was an experience all its own. The journey was so smooth and elegant, just like a beautiful pirouette, and I managed to get a little work done on my laptop while gazing out at the passing countryside. I even spotted a little family of deer grazing in a field!

Once I arrived at the heart of Leamington Spa, it felt like stepping into a fairytale. This charming town was bathed in warm autumn sunshine, and everywhere I looked, there was something beautiful to catch my eye. From the quaint, cobblestone streets to the grand, historic buildings, the whole place had this beautiful, timeless quality.

I've heard it said that Royal Leamington Spa is a "gem", and I can honestly say it lives up to its name. I'd love to explore the place more thoroughly, but time was tight and my heart was calling for ballet!

And oh my, what a show it was! I went to see the Royal Ballet's touring performance of "Swan Lake" at the gorgeous Royal Spa Centre. You know, it was one of the shows that got me so absolutely obsessed with ballet back in the day! This time around, I couldn't help but get swept up in the emotions again, feeling every heartache and triumph alongside the dancers. And their leaps, my dear friends, simply soared like beautiful swans against the backdrop of the twinkling lake!

Speaking of swans, Leamington Spa has a stunning lake with a collection of majestic swans swimming gracefully amongst the lilies. I stopped for a few moments to admire them, finding a kindred spirit in their elegant beauty and poise. The whole scene was so picture-perfect! I just had to capture the moment on my camera! You can check out the pic on my Instagram page (link at the end of the post!).

Then, as the day began to wane, I treated myself to a delightful tea at a lovely tearoom called "The Orangery". I'd be remiss not to mention their divine raspberry tarts! The perfect touch of sweetness to end a magical day! They say that everything tastes better with a dash of pink, and I can't say they are wrong!

Royal Leamington Spa, you’ve left a pink tutu-ed heart behind, and I can’t wait to return again, and maybe even spend the night. A day isn’t nearly long enough! I feel like this journey wasn’t just a day trip, but an experience! I certainly hope you’re inspired to get your tutus on and make some new and magical discoveries, you never know what you might find around the corner.
