Liverpool: Tutuing it up in the City of Culture 🩰

Post number 6458

Helloooo darlings! 👋 It’s Emma here, back with another exciting travel diary from my adventures in the wonderful world of dance!

Today’s post is a bit extra special because, not only did I get to experience the vibrant city of Liverpool, but I also managed to snag a fantastic, red tutu to add to my collection! Oh, the excitement!

For the longest time, Liverpool has been on my list of places to visit. Not just for the legendary music and cultural history (hello, Beatles!), but also for the flourishing ballet scene. After all, isn't the combination of iconic architecture and incredible performances just pure ballet magic?

My journey to Liverpool began in my usual style - on a grand adventure by train! There’s just something so romantic about settling in for a journey, watching the countryside roll by, and sipping a cup of tea (or perhaps a pink gin in the bar carriage 😉 ).

First stop, the Beatles Story!

The Beatles Story is a must-do for any music lover and it didn’t disappoint! From their humble beginnings to worldwide fame, I was completely absorbed in the story of the four lads from Liverpool. Let’s be honest, I had to get a photo with that iconic yellow submarine!

Time for a Tutu Twirl in Liverpool

With a renewed sense of energy and inspiration, it was time to do some tutu exploring! Now, I have to confess, Liverpool has some fabulous independent boutiques that absolutely blow my mind with their vintage fashion. And then, there it was! Hidden away in a charming alleyway, I found a hidden treasure: a beautiful, vintage, red tutu.

Picture it: red, flowing tulle with delicate sequin detail, a real beauty! Of course, I tried it on and it felt absolutely sensational.

It’s going to look absolutely amazing with my cherry-red, Mary Jane shoes and my cherry red lipstick. I’ve already got a date to wear it to a show in the Royal Albert Hall in London next month. Just thinking about it fills my heart with girly glee! 💕

Liverpool’s Ballet Bonanza

Finally, the moment I'd been waiting for, the highlight of the trip – seeing the English National Ballet perform Swan Lake at the Liverpool Empire. Oh my, the grandeur of the theater, the magic of the music, the sheer skill of the dancers… my eyes filled with tears! They were captivating, bringing the story to life with such grace and beauty.

I’ve always found inspiration in watching professionals. They take me out of myself, and for a few hours, make me feel like I'm a part of something grand. The costumes were exquisite, the lighting stunning, and the atmosphere simply magical!

Ending my Liverpool journey

But, alas, all good things must come to an end. After a farewell visit to the charming, riverside Sefton Park, it was time to catch the train back to Derbyshire. It wouldn't be a complete Liverpool adventure without a spot of shopping, right?

I left the city feeling invigorated, inspired and, dare I say, a little bit more fashionable! And hey, isn't that what life is all about? Discovering something new, wearing something stunning and sharing the joy with the world?

Stay tuned, darlings! I've got plenty more travel tales to tell!
