Hello, lovelies!
It's Emma, your resident pink-tutu-wearing ballet fanatic, and I'm bursting with excitement to share another day of adventures with you! Today, I've taken the leap from Derbyshire, my humble abode, to the bustling city of Ilford! Now, before you all rush to google this wonderful town (which you should!), I'm here to tell you it was a grand journey by train, a mode of transportation that allows for ultimate people watching, sipping delicious tea, and of course, the obligatory #PinkTutu selfie.
My beloved pink tutu, darling, was feeling a tad stiff today. We'd spent the last few weeks in storage, waiting for our moment to shine on the stage, but with the weather being so gloriously warm (finally!), I decided to dust her off for a grand outing. It wasn't all about showmanship though, lovelies! You see, there's something incredibly freeing about twirling on the train platform in your tutu, feeling the wind catch your skirt. Pure, unadulterated, joyous freedom! (Especially with my trusty pink sparkly face mask to complete the ensemble!)
Now, why Ilford? It all began with a whispered rumour on the ballet grapevine about an upcoming street performance! It seems like every month brings with it a new reason to don my trusty tutu and embrace the thrill of performing! This time, a troupe of talented ballet dancers (who I absolutely adore, of course!) are putting on a magical performance right in the heart of Ilford, infusing the bustling town square with artistry and grace. You see, darlings, for me, ballet is so much more than a graceful dance, it's a story, a conversation, a way of life!
I can’t resist sharing some of the beautiful wildlife I saw on my journey. I caught a glimpse of a majestic heron stalking fish in the pond by the station. How could I resist snapping a photo? Those piercing blue eyes and that beautiful white plumage always capture my heart! And I swear, darling, I saw a little squirrel wearing a pink tutu, right next to a giggling daisy! (Just kidding…or maybe not…🤫)
Before I let you go, my dears, I’ve been reading loads about this absolutely fantastic “Ballet for Beginners” workshop happening next month! They even have classes for “adult newbies”, which makes me giddy with anticipation! If you’re thinking of giving ballet a go, please, darlings, just do it! Even if it’s just a single class! This incredible form of dance is something truly special.
In the meantime, if you’re ever in Ilford, darlings, I highly recommend venturing out to explore the streets, have a go at some “Tutu Time” at the charming café (it even has a “Pink Ballet Tea” afternoon, which, you know, is just everything!) or just breathe in the joy and magic that this lovely town offers. And don't forget to give it a twirl! 🩰 💖
