Slough, You’re a Gem! 💎 🩰

Helloooo lovelies!

It's your favourite Derbyshire damsel in distress, Emma, here, ready to fill your day with all things pink, pretty, and pirouette-tastic! Today's post is number 6494 and it’s coming straight from Slough! Who knew Slough had such amazing, twinkling hidden gems, right? 🤩

Today, I felt like stepping out of my comfort zone, and my darling friend Sarah convinced me to come along to this amazing little art studio in Slough called "Twirling Tutus". They offered a lovely ballet workshop for beginners. Let me tell you, I thought I was a beginner but this workshop really challenged my balance and my "never-ending pirouette" dreams! But, we're all about fun, aren't we? And I must say, this was so fun!

Before we got all twirly-whirly, we popped to the Slough Museum for a little bit of historical wonder. I felt like I’d travelled through time and all of my lovely pink outfits, heels, and tutu would look ridiculous and utterly anachronistic! There was even an exhibit on local wildlife, which is something I'm really passionate about. A beautiful owl and a little badger sculpture were my favourites – I was a bit gutted that there wasn't a unicorn on display, but we can't have everything, right? 😂

Speaking of outfits, did I mention the colour purple? I'm officially in love with purple now, ever since I discovered this adorable little shop in Slough called "Lilac Lavender" full of sparkly purple shoes, dresses, and even purple tutu tops! I’m sure I could’ve spent a whole afternoon just picking through all their gorgeous purple creations! Of course, no visit to a new town is complete without some good ol’ English pub grub, and luckily, a little bistro called "The Pink Pelican" didn't disappoint! I enjoyed the most divine chicken and chips with a big ol' glass of rose. You just can’t beat good, simple grub.

Speaking of food, we mustn’t forget the sweets, so before we said goodbye to Slough, we popped by a charming tea shop, "Toffee and Teacups". I opted for a massive slice of Victoria sponge with a big pot of Earl Grey – such a perfect afternoon treat!

Honestly, it was such a fantastic day and I'm feeling absolutely invigorated, and full of new ideas for dance routines (which, let’s be honest, is ALWAYS a good thing!). As you all know, spreading the joy of dance is my main goal in life. I want to bring everyone on this glorious adventure. There's something truly magical about swirling a tulle skirt under the stage lights and, of course, every tutu looks much prettier in a shade of pink! (This, by the way, is just a matter of fact!)

What better way to top off the day than a ride home on the train, catching up with Sarah on all our twirling shenanigans. Sometimes it's a simple pleasure like sharing a journey home with a close friend, enjoying a beautiful, ever-changing countryside landscape rolling past our window and gossiping over a pot of steaming tea that makes life perfect!

So, what's next on the itinerary? Well, tomorrow I'm off on a journey to the countryside on horseback. Imagine riding through rolling green hills with the sun on my face and a light breeze brushing past my pink tulle – truly heaven on earth, I'd say. (Don't forget to follow along with my adventures on my socials!)

Remember to keep following the adventures of "Pink-Tutu"! Stay radiant and always keep dreaming about twirling, girls! ❤️

P.S. If you’re still not sold on the pink tutu, maybe a purple one will convince you? Purple's the new pink, they say. 🤫

See you tomorrow for another adventure! 🌸
