Hammersmith Calling! ๐Ÿฉฐ๐Ÿ’–

Hello darlings! It's your favourite tutu-obsessed traveller, Emma, back with another post from the glamorous world of ballet and, well, pink! Today's post is extra special because it's a whopping #6505, which means we're over 6,000 posts strong! Who would have thought, when I started this blog from my tiny flat in Derbyshire, that I'd be sharing my pink tutu adventures with so many lovely souls?

Anyway, back to the exciting news: this week, I found myself whisked away to the fabulous Hammersmith. London, darling! My inner fashionista couldn't wait to soak up all the creative energy, and let's be honest, who wouldn't love a trip to one of the world's greatest dance hubs? I practically floated down to the platform at Derby station, the morning sunlight reflecting off my pink tutu and the promise of ballet adventure sparkling in my eyes. I think my little pink beret was rather chic, too, don't you think?

Itโ€™s worth mentioning that the train journey is a pure delight โ€“ I love settling in, surrounded by my comfy, vintage-style luggage and my book about wildlife photography (a secret passion of mine!), while enjoying the rolling English countryside. Thereโ€™s something so satisfying about arriving at my destination without the stresses of driving. And yes, I admit, I also enjoy a sneaky glance in the window at my reflection โ€“ pink tutu and all. ๐Ÿ˜œ

But it was Hammersmith's ballet scene that really stole the show. Let's just say that my heart nearly leapt out of my chest when I saw the Italian dancers. Have you ever seen anything so beautiful? They moved like ethereal butterflies, each pliรฉ and pirouette more elegant than the last. They looked like they were dancing on clouds, their graceful movements truly a sight to behold. I must admit, my Italian had some major gaps, but their artistic language was something truly special โ€“ like a story told without a single word. It felt like a dream! I've never been more inspired.

Of course, I couldnโ€™t visit Hammersmith without stopping by one of its fabulous ballet studios. I'd heard rumours of an incredible workshop led by a retired Royal Ballet dancer, and let me tell you, it was truly divine! I learnt so much about graceful arm movements and the elegance of controlled jumps โ€“ I may have felt slightly silly with my tutu, but who cares? The sheer joy of swirling around in my pink fabric haven while being guided by such an accomplished ballerina was priceless.

You know me, darling โ€“ I couldn't resist indulging in a few hours at the local boutique after the workshop, picking out a few treasures to add to my growing tutu collection. One is a soft, ethereal blush pink, perfect for adding a touch of romance to my daily look, and another is a bold fuchsia number with sequins, which is going to be fantastic for my next night out in London's theatre district!

After a delicious afternoon tea โ€“ Earl Grey, naturally! โ€“ with a dash of strawberry jam, I ventured out to catch a performance of Swan Lake. The costumes were stunning! The set design breathtaking. And those swan wings? Chef's kiss - just so spectacular! I was completely swept away. Even though I had to stand for the entire show โ€“ no seat available! โ€“ I was captivated every second. The ballet dancers were so graceful, their movements like flowing water. I couldnโ€™t believe how they managed to flit and glide around the stage with so much control. Truly inspiring.

Hammersmith has been absolutely amazing! Iโ€™ve found some inspiration for my own dancing (the Italian dancer in me is practically bursting out!). And now that I'm back in my tiny flat in Derbyshire, my next big dream is to have all you lovely readers try on a tutu for a day. Just imagine! Imagine all the smiles, the twirls, the confidence โ€“ imagine a world where we all feel like princesses and dancers, regardless of age, size or background. So tell me, are you up for the challenge? Let's make this pink tutu dream a reality!

As always, I love reading your comments below โ€“ what are your favourite tutu moments? And who are some of your favourite ballet dancers? Do share!

Until next time, keep dancing, darling!

Love,

Emma x ๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿฉฐ
