#TutuBlog 6540: Rugby with a Green Tutu!

Helloooo darlings! Emma here, reporting live from… wait for it… Rugby! That's right, my lovely pink-tutu-loving lot, I've swapped my usual pink frocks for a touch of green today! Why? Well, it wouldn’t be right to visit Rugby without honouring the town’s famous rugby heritage! Now, before you imagine me attempting a tackle (no, thank you, I'd much rather pirouette!), let me explain!

This morning, after a hearty English breakfast of porridge and fruit (because a ballerina's gotta fuel those fabulous legs!) I popped on a gorgeous emerald green tutu. You see, darling, it's not always about the pink, sometimes it's about celebrating colour and diversity! A girl needs a little green in her life, right? And this fabulous tutu just screamed, "Rugby, here I come!".

Then, of course, it was off to the World Rugby Museum! It was like stepping into a time capsule filled with stories of legendary players, famous matches, and incredible memorabilia! Did you know rugby balls were originally made of animal bladders? Fascinating, isn’t it?

Later, I went to a truly magnificent performance by the Rugby Dance Company. Now, we're talking real elegance and grace! Their costumes were incredible, their moves were exquisite, and their stories were simply beautiful! The passion and artistry reminded me so much of ballet, but with a rugby twist! It truly inspired me to take a ballet class later this evening.

I was delighted to see ballet played a significant role in rugby's cultural landscape. There's a real beauty in the way they blend sporting traditions and graceful artistry. It was just another reminder that ballet is not only beautiful, it’s incredibly diverse. It can be enjoyed and expressed in so many ways, from traditional stages to vibrant sports fields.

Of course, no visit to Rugby would be complete without a spot of shopping! I found a charming little shop selling rugby themed clothes and gifts. My inner child couldn't resist picking up a adorable rugby ball shaped teddy bear dressed in a miniature pink tutu (because let’s be real, who can say no to pink?) I already have it in mind to give it to my nephew, little Leo, who has just started playing rugby and he'll love it! It combines his two passions: rugby and tutus (that love of ballet must run in the family!

Later on, I hopped on a train to York. (Who said train journeys can't be glamorous? You can be certain my emerald green tutu caused a few turned heads). I just love how the world is filled with so many different experiences, colours, and stories.

And you know what? Maybe it’s the green tutu talking, but I've decided I'm on a mission to bring a touch of ballet to Rugby, maybe even a ballet street performance! Imagine, the beautiful swirls of a pirouette set against the backdrop of the iconic rugby stadiums! I bet it would be magical.

My dear tutu-loving friends, wherever your travels take you this week, remember to embrace the colour, celebrate the diversity, and always wear your tutu with pride!

Love and sparkle, Emma
