Rowley Regis, You've Got Me Spinning! 🩰 πŸ’–

Post number 6589 - www.pink-tutu.com

Oh, Rowley Regis, how I love thee! Let me count the ways... okay, it's just the one really - you were the most delightful little pitstop on my recent rail journey! (A horse might have been quicker, but where's the romance in that?!) This little town tucked into the heart of the West Midlands is, to my pink-tutu-loving heart, a veritable jewel box!

I was on my way to Birmingham for a magical evening at the Birmingham Hippodrome, but with a bit of time to spare before my show, I decided to explore the charming Black Country. And I'm so glad I did! Now, I know what you're thinking: Rowley Regis isn't exactly known for its ballet connections, is it? But trust me, you wouldn't know it by how warmly I was welcomed by the local folks. It was like I had stepped into a whimsical ballet scene right out of my own little daydreams!

Firstly, I felt the need to embrace my inner tutu princess with a trip to "Pink", the most fabulous haberdashery I've come across this side of Nottingham. Imagine a haven of shimmering fabrics and shimmering ribbons, where every shade of pink is on offer and where the smell of vintage needles and thread instantly makes you feel like a crafty little fairy! It took me ages to drag myself away from the enchanting shop, but armed with enough fabric to make a whole troupe of dancers blush, I was ready to face the town square.

There, just as the sun began to dip beneath the clouds, casting a magical golden glow on the quaint little shops and the cobblestone streets, was the most incredible sight: a local street theatre group performing an impromptu piece. It wasn't ballet, I'll grant you that, but the sheer passion and exuberance were enough to make my heart skip a beat! It was all a bit, shall we say, 'eccentric', but in the best possible way! A tap-dancing pigeon (or maybe it was just a very, very good mimic) was definitely the highlight!

Feeling inspired by this beautiful moment of shared joy, I couldn't resist joining in with a little twirl. Let's just say I brought the sunshine to an already bright day. And honestly, can you blame me? When in a pretty town, a pink tutu and sunshine are all you need to be happy.

Speaking of pretty, one of my favourite discoveries was the local nature reserve, Black Country Living Museum. It’s an amazing, tranquil oasis of green spaces tucked away just outside the bustling heart of the town. There were so many beautiful birds flitting through the branches – even spotted a cheeky little robin in the most unexpected of places! There's something about watching wild birds flutter their feathery wings that instantly calms my mind and leaves me feeling utterly zen. I think my love for ballet comes from this very same place – it's all about capturing the grace and movement of nature in a beautiful and artistic form.

As the sun set, casting a soft pink glow across the sky, it was time for me to head off to Birmingham for the show. I left Rowley Regis with a renewed sense of appreciation for the little towns that add so much colour and vibrancy to life. I can’t wait to see what exciting adventures are in store for me next - whether it’s a performance on stage or a discovery of a charming, unexpected town – it's all part of the exciting journey!

Now, off I go to embrace the beautiful art of ballet and to inspire as many people as I can to wear a pink tutu and unleash their inner ballerina!

Until next time,

Emma xx
