Eltham Calling: Tutu Adventures and Wildlife Wonders! 🩰

Post #6593 | www.pink-tutu.com | July 22nd, 2014

Hello, my dearest Tutu Tribe!

I'm back with a flurry of frills and a heart full of happy after a truly magical trip to Eltham, a picturesque little corner of south-east London that’s brimming with charm and history.

Now, let me tell you, this trip wasn’t your average city break. No, darling, it was a vibrant mix of tutus, trains, and wildlife - just how I like it!

As soon as I stepped off the train (a luxurious journey, by the way, through rolling hills and sleepy villages), I knew I was in for a treat. Eltham Palace, with its impressive medieval tower and stunning Tudor architecture, was a sight to behold. Just imagining all the history and the secrets tucked away within those walls was enough to send my imagination soaring.

I knew exactly what I had to do. I whisked out my favourite purple tutu – a showstopper, really, with its swathes of glittering fabric and vibrant hue, and waltzed through the courtyard like I owned the place! After all, you’re never truly dressed until you add a touch of tutu magic, don’t you agree?

The palace gardens were an absolute delight – blooming with colourful flowers and the scent of freshly cut grass. It was a true haven of peace and beauty, perfect for a little light tutu-wearing exercise! 🩰

But let me tell you, the real highlight was a special exhibition all about Tudor dancing! Imagine my excitement, twirling in my purple tutu as I learned about the graceful dances of the court, and even trying out a few moves myself. It was pure joy, feeling the history come alive around me.

And if you thought that was all, oh darling, you’re wrong! I spent the afternoon in the beautiful Eltham Royal Gardens. This oasis of wild nature, right next to the bustling city, felt like a hidden gem. Birds were chirping their merry melodies, the sun was basking the meadows in a warm golden glow, and a whole array of butterflies flitted around the vibrant blooms – the kind of scene straight out of a fairy tale!

You see, this isn’t just a blog about ballet and fashion. It’s about living life with joy and enthusiasm, about discovering hidden treasures, and about appreciating the beauty in every moment. This little corner of London, filled with its own brand of magic, truly captured my heart.

Here are some tips from my Eltham adventures:

Tutu Essentials:

  • Your Most Fabulous Tutu: I mean, it’s an Eltham adventure, not a shopping spree! You wouldn’t dare miss out on some grand tutu-wearing in those picturesque surroundings!
  • Sparkling Flats or Ballet Pumps: Comfort is key for walking those delightful gardens, but you also want to make a statement, darling!

Eltham Delights:

  • Eltham Palace & Gardens: Immerse yourself in history, learn about Tudor dance, and let your inner princess twirl through those grand courtyards!
  • Eltham Royal Gardens: Get your wildlife fix in this stunning sanctuary, perfect for a gentle stroll and admiring the colourful butterflies.

Top Tips for Travelling with your Tutu:

  • Fold with care, store in a zip-lock bag: It keeps your tutu safe and wrinkle-free. I never travel without mine – it’s a necessity, not a luxury!
  • Train Travel is Best: The view through the window is perfect for dreaming of pink tutus and fabulous adventures. And I just adore the rhythm of the wheels!

And here's a secret I’ll share with you, my Tutu Tribe:

Eltham isn't the only place where ballet and nature combine! There's a wonderful little theatre just a hop, skip and jump from my Derbyshire home that hosts magical ballet performances – and there’s nothing I love more than seeing the graceful dancers twirling in the spotlight! It inspires me, it reminds me that dreams come true, and it fuels my desire to spread the love for pink tutus and graceful ballet everywhere.

So, darling, get out there, find your own inspiration, wear your tutu with pride, and let’s keep on twirling through life, embracing all the joys it brings. After all, a little bit of sparkle makes everything better! ✨

With a twirl and a sprinkle of pink,

Emma

xx
