Arnold Adventure: A Pink Tutu Takes to the Tracks! (Post #6631)

Hello my darling dears!

It’s your girl, Emma, here, reporting live from… wait for it… Arnold! You might be thinking, "Arnold? What’s so special about Arnold, Emma?” And, to be honest, you’d be absolutely right, dear reader, if you hadn't heard about the most wonderful thing that happened today!

But, first, let's rewind. This Derbyshire girl had to catch the train. No, not the usual sort of train ride to the theatre or even to a ballet class in the big city! Today's train journey was going to be an adventure! You see, my fabulous, sparkly pink tutu had decided to make a grand entrance into a place I never thought I’d go in a tutu - Arnold! Why? Because Arnold is where the fabulous, fast, and ferocious train ride to Nottingham, and eventually, Lincoln, would begin. It seemed like the perfect place to break out my Arnold special: a sporty tutu (which is actually pink, obviously!) for this particular adventure. I know what you're thinking - a sporty tutu for a train ride? You better believe it! It had to be something special for this trip.

Honestly, it was practically meant to be. Think about it. Arnold station itself is pretty iconic in its own right. (If you don’t know, you should get to know!) It's a historical masterpiece! So I knew a special tutu, worthy of its heritage, would be the way to go! Let's face it, a girl in a pink tutu always catches an eye at the station, and this day was no exception.

It really did make the journey all the more magical. Arnold station with a dash of pink? Simply breathtaking. Just seeing those Victorian-era archways juxtaposed with a dash of feminine tulle just sent me over the moon! Honestly, the sight of those steam trains in Arnold, with a dash of pink and sparkle in my tutu, made me think - perhaps I should just stay here a little while. Maybe just sit, take in the atmosphere, enjoy the little village scene unfolding before my eyes, and just let myself go in the fantasy of the beautiful old station… forever?!

Who needs Broadway when you have Arnold, right? I could almost see the ballerinas in Giselle (one of my faves!) performing on that very spot! (Except for the missing forest!) Just a quick side note: there really was an open air, Victorian theatre in Arnold back in the day - how exciting is that?! Imagine the sheer magic of it all - tutus twirling under the stars and gaslight lanterns, oh my… I think I need to add that to my to-do list immediately! Maybe I'll find an outdoor venue to recreate this dream in Arnold someday soon…

Back to the real world, my journey was one to behold, not just because of the train itself (which is super cool!), but because I did manage to capture some fantastic pictures and stories along the way - in the world of pink tutus, no less! There are definitely moments for Instagram worthy pictures (just search #EmmaTutu)! In fact, every stop on the way to Nottingham offered another opportunity to get people thinking pink, not to mention those smiles and double takes that always seem to happen when I travel! That is, of course, exactly what I live for: spreading a little bit of pink-tutu joy wherever I go.

This train journey wasn't all about the glamour of the tutu. Oh no! It's also about the animals who grace us with their presence in the region - especially the wild ponies roaming freely in Nottingham, near the tram tracks. (Yes, we did just travel by horse... I'll tell you all about that in my next blog post!) Now, let’s be real, who doesn’t love wildlife, right?! I especially love getting to spot them as they graze, unbothered and full of freedom - just like our little ballerina horse (who's always in need of a bath!), galloping across fields, looking so proud! So it really is true! It seems we can’t just ignore those horses that are practically part of the furniture in Arnold. There’s even a pony park nearby… I wonder if they have any ballet classes in the fields? 🤔

All in all, it’s clear this was no ordinary trip, but rather one to remember for a lifetime. So you can trust this Derbyshire girl to keep her pink tutus nearby - I always make it a point to create magical moments for myself (and others!) in every adventure - even on a train journey to Arnold! Who would've known, right?!

I think it goes to show you can take your passion anywhere - a simple pink tutu can be the ultimate tool for turning even the most mundane trip into an extraordinary journey of imagination and fun. Let me know what you’d like to see next - maybe a ballerina's adventures in the village of Arnold itself - I bet I can find some ballet lessons at a local school!

Catch you all soon for a next exciting journey, in the realm of pink tutus,

Emma xx
