Hitchin, Sweet Hitchin! #TutuBlog Post 6652

Hello darlings! It's Emma here, your resident pink-tutu-wearing, ballet-loving adventurer! 🩰✨ I’m back from a whirlwind trip to the gorgeous town of Hitchin, and I’m just bubbling over with excitement to tell you all about it. As always, this wouldn’t be a TutuBlog post without a fabulous pink tutu, and this time I’m sporting an absolute stunner – an American-style tutu that would make any ballerina blush!

Let's start at the beginning, shall we? It's all about that journey, isn't it? I left my Derbyshire haven, where the hills are just as beautiful as a ballet dancer's leaps, and set off for Hitchin in the most wonderful way - by train. Nothing beats the gentle rocking motion of a carriage, the rhythmic click-clack of the wheels on the track, and the stunning countryside views that fly by. I could write a whole post about the pure joy of travelling by train! But for now, back to Hitchin...

Hitchin is like stepping into a fairytale, you know? With its cobbled streets, charming little shops bursting with loveliness, and grand old buildings whispering tales of the past. I wandered through the Market Place, the air thick with the sweet aroma of freshly baked pastries and the chirpy chatter of people going about their day. There were so many pretty things to look at - beautiful flower arrangements spilling out of quaint shops, handmade jewellery glinting in the sun, and quirky art pieces peeking out from windows. It’s no wonder they call Hitchin a treasure trove!

Of course, no trip is complete without a little bit of culture, so I had to visit the stunning Hitchin Priory. I can’t resist a beautiful historic building, and the Priory was no exception. Its grand architecture, soaring ceilings, and picturesque gardens are the stuff of dreams. They were even holding an open air theatre performance in the grounds - just the sort of thing that puts a twinkle in my eyes!

Speaking of twinkles, did I mention I was rocking a new American-style tutu? Oh my, it was so perfect! Its multi-layered tulle cascaded down my legs in a cloud of pink and shimmer, and the dainty sequins sparkled like a thousand stars. This tutu, my darlings, is truly a work of art! It’s all about that feeling of utter freedom and joy when you slip it on, like you’re ready to take flight. And honestly, who wouldn't want to take flight in Hitchin, a place so full of wonder and charm?

I even found time to take a wander in the stunning gardens of the Hitchin Priory. I love a good garden, don’t you? With nature’s colours bursting forth, and the scents of blooms carried on the breeze. It felt like an idyllic scene out of a painting, just perfect for a leisurely stroll. I could have stayed there for hours, but then I would have missed out on the delicious delights of Hitchin’s High Street!

And what’s a good wander without a pit stop for a tasty treat, right? I’ve found that good food is essential for a truly wonderful day. It makes my heart happy to explore new restaurants and discover local delicacies. Hitchin, you have some seriously good coffee shops and independent cafes - it was a real struggle to resist the allure of all the pastries!

But here's a little secret: my favourite thing about Hitchin was the sense of community. Everyone I met was so warm and welcoming, eager to share their love for this wonderful little town. It's those little moments of human connection that really make my heart sing.

And speaking of connection, my dearest readers, I want to encourage you to embrace your inner ballerina. Just try it! Put on a pink tutu and spin like you’re twirling across the stage! Maybe even pop down to your local ballet class – who knows, you might discover a hidden talent. There’s a ballerina in all of us, you know, just waiting to be unleashed.

Hitchin, you’ve stolen my heart. Thank you for the beautiful scenery, the warm smiles, the charming shops, and for reminding me of the magic that lies within us all!

Until next time, darlings, stay pink and keep dancing!

Emma 💕🩰
