Harrow: A Tutu-ful Food Adventure!

#6739

Hello lovelies!

Well, I’m back in my trusty old tutu – a lovely bright pink one for today’s travels! 🩰

Today was a very special trip, not to a ballet show this time, but a rather exciting food adventure in the bustling, charming town of Harrow. Now, if you follow me closely, you know that travelling by train is absolutely my favourite way to get around, it allows you to relax, see the beautiful English countryside (the sheep in Derbyshire are simply adorable), and often spot some fabulous birds of prey, especially hawks – I am utterly obsessed with birds of prey, you guys.

So, today's journey began with me gazing out of the train window, as the train gently meandered its way towards Harrow, where I was going to visit a quirky café called "Tutus & Teacups" which my friend, the wonderfully whimsical, Amelia had recommended. I love anything with “Tutu” in it, naturally, and anything tea-related is always welcome! I thought, what better way to spend the day, right?

And let me tell you, I was not disappointed.

It was absolutely charming – imagine stepping back in time to a dainty little tea room, all delicate floral china, antique lace doilies, and beautiful little rosebud patterns, with fluffy cakes and little sandwiches. My kinda place!

Amelia had been right – everything was pink and beautiful. There were dainty little pink parasols hanging from the ceiling, with the most glorious pink floral wallpapers you can imagine – you’d think the Queen herself was responsible for choosing the décor.

The staff were just as lovely! They were wearing these little floral printed frocks, with their hair in neat, perfectly coiled up-dos – utterly picture perfect. I instantly felt transported into a little world of delicate prettiness.

Now, when you know me, you’ll understand that any chance I get to wear a tutu – it just has to happen. Even better if it’s pink! I couldn’t possibly be surrounded by all this glorious girly loveliness and not put on my Tutu. I wore a soft pink one that gently shimmered under the soft glow of the lamps. And my heels? A pair of rose-gold shoes, which Amelia, being the fabulously stylish woman she is, had sent over.

I chose to eat some exquisite dainty cucumber sandwiches – they were the best I’ve ever had – with an unbelievably decadent little Victoria sponge, a traditional and beautifully executed little treat that would make your grandmother sing with joy, and my favourite, a cuppa, oh how I love a good, hot cup of tea, served in a china teapot, so charming.

I had to, naturally, buy a little keepsake from the shop next door. It was just too perfect! I got the cutest pink porcelain doll, dressed in a gorgeous pastel pink ballerina outfit – oh, it is such a stunning miniature dancer, just a dream.

Harrow is a wonderful place with quaint and charming places tucked away all around. I felt utterly serene, the atmosphere was like being wrapped in a cloud of fluffy, pink happiness – the epitome of charm and joy.

While there, I took a stroll in Harrow’s beautiful, historic Harrow School grounds – my goodness it was just stunning – the air was so crisp and clean, I had the time of my life exploring all the little pathways and courtyards, and soaking in the calm atmosphere. It was incredibly tranquil.

Later on, I even caught a ballet show – and it was divine, set to my favourite Tchaikovsky and absolutely full of the graceful beauty of ballet, all beautiful dancers wearing shimmering pink tutus. The finale was particularly magical – it was a sight that’ll stay in my memory forever. I wish I could have taken a million photos, I could have filmed the show so much was so captivating and mesmerising – a moment that made me wish for the time travel invention to become a reality!

If you love tea, or pink or a beautiful world of dainty little floral patterns and delicate delights – then Harrow has got to be on your bucket list! The town itself is a beautiful place with such lovely vibes. It truly feels like a time warp, like being transported to another era. I was completely enchanted by it.

My evening concluded with a delicious Italian dinner with my ballet friends – a scrumptious lasagne and a couple of glasses of delicious pink Italian fizz! What a perfect end to a dreamy and incredibly fulfilling day! I hope you guys will join me on my next adventure, which might be a ride on my darling little Shetland pony, Bonnie – she's got this lovely little pink saddle which is the perfect girly pink accessory. I simply can't wait!

Much love!

Emma xx
