Hastings: Pink Tutu Paradise (Post #6770)

Hello, lovelies! It's Emma here, and guess what? I'm on the coast! Yes, this Derbyshire girl has traded the rolling hills for the bracing sea air of Hastings, and trust me, it's a perfect match for my pink tutu.

I took the train, of course - there's nothing quite like the rhythm of the tracks and the clattering of the wheels as you whisk past charming English villages and towards a new adventure. And honestly, what better way to arrive in a seaside town than wearing a white tutu? It twirled in the breeze as I disembarked, and I swear I felt like a little fairy taking flight!

Hastings is enchanting. The air is filled with the salty scent of the sea, the cliffs are dramatic and beautiful, and the quaint little streets are brimming with charming independent shops. I even found a shop dedicated entirely to antique clocks – how could I resist popping in for a little peek?

I must admit, I'm not a huge fan of large crowds, so the slightly quieter charm of Hastings was a welcome respite from the hustle and bustle of city life. I felt like I could truly relax, take in the scenery, and lose myself in the joy of being by the sea.

Now, no trip to Hastings would be complete without a visit to the Hastings Pier. This beautiful Victorian structure was destroyed by a fire a few years ago, but it's been lovingly restored, and now stands proudly on the beach. The views from the top are incredible, especially when you can twirl with your favourite tutu against the backdrop of the wide open ocean. I spent hours watching the waves crashing against the pier and the playful gulls swooping overhead.

Speaking of playful gulls, Hastings also boasts an incredible selection of bird life, much to my delight. They add so much vibrancy to the seafront – I swear I caught one stealing a chip from a cheeky teenager! It was absolutely hilarious!

And of course, I couldn't possibly resist trying out a bit of Hastings' famous fish and chips. It was delicious, but I swear, after indulging in those crispy fries, the only appropriate attire was my most comfortable tutu. I've discovered that it's great for a walk on the beach, but not as much fun after a fish and chip dinner. Maybe I need to get a special tutu just for the seafront – that’s a great idea, I’ll write that down!

Oh, I also managed to squeeze in a visit to the Hastings Museum & Art Gallery. Their collections are really interesting, but what caught my eye was an exquisite exhibition about the history of the British coastline. And I couldn’t leave without buying myself a little memento – a tiny model of the old Hastings Pier, complete with a miniature pink tutu dancer, naturally!

I ended my day with a walk along the shingle beach. The sun was setting, casting long shadows on the shore and painting the sky with vibrant hues of pink and orange. It felt incredibly magical. I spun around in my white tutu, letting the sea breeze catch it, and felt so incredibly content. I just felt completely in my element!

Honestly, I could have easily spent days exploring Hastings, and I’ll definitely be returning soon. The beauty, the charm, and the magic of this seaside town has already won a special place in my heart. I highly recommend a trip – and of course, I think every Hastings visit should involve a little twirling in a pink tutu. It’s like the law!

And, darling readers, if you do head down to Hastings, don’t forget to visit the Hastings Borough Council website! You can find out all the latest information about the town and its incredible events.

Oh, and before I go, a quick question for all of you lovely people. What is your favourite seafront location? Share your thoughts in the comments below!

Until next time, stay fabulous and keep twirling!
