Weston-super-Mare: A Tutu-tastic Trip with a Twist of Food!

Hello my gorgeous lovelies! It's your favourite tutu-wearing traveller, Emma, and guess what? I'm back from a fabulous trip to Weston-super-Mare! And not only that, but my trusty, fabulous, fabulous, pink tutu came along for the ride! Yes, my dears, a seaside escapade wouldn't be complete without a splash of pink and a twirl or two.

As you know, I'm a sucker for all things seaside. The salty air, the seagulls squawking in the distance, and the undeniable charm of a traditional seaside town. But this time, my journey had a delectable twist – food!

So how did this adventure unfold, you ask? Well, it all started with a beautiful morning in Derbyshire. As always, I started my day with a cup of English breakfast tea and a healthy bowl of fruit, but with a very special addition this time - a touch of pink fairy dust! It was the perfect way to begin a journey that would be filled with laughter, yummy food, and of course, pink tutus!

I packed my essentials: a good book (because, well, who doesn't love a good read on a train journey?), my pinkest shades (it was a sunny day!), my lucky little pink teddy (for company!), and my favourite pink ballet shoes – they're just so comfy for a day of walking and twirling!

Then, with my pink travel bag secured, I embarked on my seaside escapade - the train ride! Nothing quite beats a train journey to spark my creativity, don't you think? It's like a mini adventure itself. Watching the world whiz past the window as I immerse myself in my latest book – pure bliss.

Reaching Weston-super-Mare, the seaside air filled with salty joy! I practically skipped to my hotel, excited to get this weekend adventure started. The hotel itself was a charming old-world place, complete with stained glass windows, beautiful oak furniture, and, oh the joy! a balcony with a perfect view of the ocean! It felt so incredibly chic and serene, and the perfect spot for a ballerina like myself!

Now, where were we? Ah, yes, the food! Weston-super-Mare seemed to have an endless array of culinary delights - from classic seaside fish and chips (which, naturally, I had to indulge in – gotta embrace the classics!) to delectable seafood restaurants with a contemporary twist. I tried everything, from the best sea-fresh fish you can imagine to succulent oysters (okay, maybe just two because, you know, tiny bites of pure flavour are best!). My stomach was so happy!

Of course, no trip to Weston-super-Mare would be complete without a trip to the Grand Pier. A nostalgic, traditional British pier packed with fun fair rides, games, and shops, all promising endless joy! I took a spin on the carousel (I just can't resist a carousel!), had a go at the bowling (let's just say, my skills need a little bit of work, haha!), and won a giant, fluffy, pink teddy (it was too cute to resist!)

Later that day, the sun was sinking towards the horizon painting the sky with hues of pink, purple and orange, the perfect backdrop for a leisurely stroll along the promenade. It was the ideal time to take a stroll, the sea breeze blowing through my hair, the sound of seagulls soaring overhead, and the gentle rhythm of the waves lapping against the shore. It truly felt like a dream!

On my last evening, I sat at a cozy little café on the pier, sipping my cup of tea, watching the last rays of sun kiss the sea, feeling content. As I twirled in my tutu, my little pink teddy bear watching on with me, I realised I had just experienced a beautiful, delicious and, of course, tutu-tastic journey.

And as I wrote this blog post, the memory of my pink, delicious escapade is still vivid, just as fresh as the salty air. So, whether you are a seasoned traveller or a first-time adventurer, I highly recommend adding a food-themed tutu escapade to your list. You’ll find the experience is a truly delicious one. Remember, life is just better in a pink tutu. And it doesn’t get any more fun than that!

Until next time my dearest lovelies,

Love, Emma x
