Burton Upon Trent: Tutu Tales and a Touch of Pink

Hello darlings! It's Emma, your favourite tutu-loving, pink-obsessed, ballet-mad blogger, back with another daily dose of dancey-deliciousness! Today I'm taking you on a whirlwind journey to Burton upon Trent, a town with a charming blend of history and industrial heritage, but for me, the real magic lies in exploring its hidden gems with a sprinkle of tutu-tastic flair!

This is actually my sixth visit to this historic Staffordshire town. It always feels like a trip back in time, walking those cobbled streets, with beautiful timber framed houses whispering tales of centuries past.

But today was special. Today, I embarked on a mission - to find the most fabulous, most unexpected spot to showcase my latest pink tutu creation! This tutu, my darlings, is no ordinary one. It's a shimmering symphony of pinks and purples, crafted with layers upon layers of delicate tulle. Imagine the most exquisite ballet costume you've ever seen, with just a touch of extra sparkle. swoon

We started our adventure at the heart of Burton's industrial heritage, the National Brewery Centre. What's a more quintessentially British scene than a brewpub? And oh, my! Their brewery tour was fab. After our fascinating tour, we made our way into the heart of Burton's Brewery Centre. It’s a beautiful space, bursting with life, and perfect for an afternoon of indulgent bites and frothy delights.

I admit, my heart jumped a beat when I found a tiny balcony with the most stunning views across the town. The sun was shining and the sight of the rolling green hills surrounding the town was just the inspiration I needed for a mini-tutu-tastic photoshoot.

My aim in life, you know, is to inspire people, to show them that you can add a touch of magic to any situation. That's why I wanted to shoot my new tutu in an unexpected spot, surrounded by brewing vats and a symphony of bubbling beer. And darling, it was absolutely glorious!

You’d be surprised at the looks I got! One man stopped and asked me, "You are certainly enjoying the Burton upon Trent air, love!" Another commented on my colour combo, a vibrant mix of pink and purple set against the brewing tanks! It's true, my dear, there's no stopping the sheer joy of a vibrant pink tutu, no matter what the setting!

After my photo-shoot, I hopped on the historic Burton upon Trent steam railway. (Don’t you just love steam railways! Those little puffing engines remind me of the vintage days, when all things were simple, beautiful, and charming.) I took a ride on this amazing little line – it was truly breathtaking – and I just had to stop and capture some of the scenery for a bit more photo magic!

As a ballet-obsessed gal, my travels wouldn't be complete without a stop at a theatre, so we headed towards the Burton Town Hall. It’s an exquisite building and a great place to watch the shows happening in Burton. There were little theatre posters hanging up, some of which featured fabulous vintage ballet pictures from the era. (Don’t tell my friends at The Royal Ballet School, but those are my favourite! I have quite the collection.)

From the theatre to a castle - it's always been my dream to dance inside a castle. Just imagine the grandeur! Of course, no castle adventure would be complete without a beautiful park to dance in, and the town had exactly what I needed!

You won't believe the place we found – The National Trust property called "Calke Abbey." Just picturesque! It’s a crumbling and beautiful 17th century house with breathtaking grounds. Imagine walking along those quiet, moss-covered stone paths! This was the perfect place to indulge in a little al fresco tutu moment and snap some fantastic photographs for my blog.

We also had the opportunity to explore the park at Calke Abbey, which gave me an opportunity to show off my fancy new shoes - oh yes, dancing shoes for those who wish to venture into the woods! I just loved their comfy feel - and their colour - what else, but pink, of course!

It's hard to say goodbye to a town so charming as Burton Upon Trent. With its historic pubs, its beautiful park and the most amazing architecture, Burton Upon Trent gave me everything I need – an afternoon filled with magic, laughter, and a few stunning tutu photos for you all to enjoy.

Well my darling, I have so much more to tell you about! Don't miss my next blog for even more travel tales, pink tutu photoshoots, and ballet adventures!

Always Remember: There's no wrong way to wear a tutu. Just wear it with confidence. And don’t forget to share your pink tutu photos with me! You can reach me at: www.pink-tutu.com
