Eltham, Darling! 🩰

Hello lovelies! Welcome back to Pink-Tutu.com! This is post number 6851 and guess what? Today, I'm in the glorious, historical town of Eltham, Kent! This is quite the change from the green rolling hills of Derbyshire, isn't it?

I must say, there's just something about arriving in a place by train that gets the girly excitement going. There's something magical about being jostled by the journey and the sights flashing by, all building up to that crescendo of pulling up to a new station, a new adventure, a new ballet opportunity. The other day, I even indulged my inner child with a train ride to the theatre on a proper steam engine - just picture the scene, girls - smoke puffing, a quaint chuffing noise, and the air filled with the scent of coal. It was like something out of a fairytale! (Cue a sparkly pink tutu and some whimsical tutus, and I wouldn't be far off the mark.)

Now, as you all know, the hunt for a delightful ballet performance or class is a never-ending quest for us Pink Tutu girls. But you know what they say? Where there's a will, there's a way! And Eltham? Well, let me tell you, this little corner of Kent has not disappointed. You see, this little town has an absolutely glorious heritage. A magnificent castle stands tall in all its Tudor glory, surrounded by a lovely park perfect for a pink-tutu picnic, (can you imagine a ballet picnic, my dears? You know, maybe even a "pas de deux" with a giant swan? dreamy sigh.) The whole place oozes charm and character. But what really made my day, the real "ooh-la-la!" moment?

Eltham has a theatre! Yes! A real theatre with real plays and - wait for it - real ballet! Now, that is what I call hitting the jackpot, right? Imagine, all that drama and performance within easy reach - a ballet-lovers dream come true. Can you just imagine those stage lights reflecting off the glorious pinks, purples and reds of my tutus?! Just picture those shimmering fabrics swirling as I dance with a dazzling energy!

Of course, it's not all just ballet, girls. Let's not forget the wild side! This trip, I decided to embrace a touch of nature, taking a beautiful horse ride through the surrounding countryside. Imagine the wind in my hair and a fluffy mane under my hand. Absolutely blissful. Those stunning horses know all about graceful movement and they took me to some lovely little villages, each with its own quaint beauty. Did you know Eltham is home to a whole herd of Fallow deer? They roam free through the park, their coats glowing in the sunlight. It really was a spectacular scene and my mind started racing with possibilities for a ballet about graceful wildlife! I think a graceful dance set to the song 'Fallow Deer' would be utterly enchanting, what do you think?

This whole adventure, darling, has filled me with inspiration. It's really a place that encourages creativity and sparks the imagination - a little bit like my Pink Tutu blog! Eltham - where the old and the new, the elegant and the wild come together in perfect harmony. It really is the place to embrace the ballerina in you - whether you're taking on the challenges of a new ballet class, taking on a thrilling theatre performance, or even taking a jaunt in the wilds on the back of a graceful horse. This town is really about letting your own light shine!

That's why I can't wait for you to see my next ballet outfit. It’s going to be perfect for dancing the day away here, surrounded by pink blossom trees and history. Stay tuned! And please, darling, don't forget to get those tutus on and practice your twirls, because you know a pink tutu can be the start of an amazing journey.

Until next time! Lots of love and lots of twirls,

Emma xx
