Hello darlings! 💋 It's your favourite pink tutu-clad travel blogger, Emma, here, and oh my goodness, I am absolutely buzzing after my latest adventure to Dover! 🌊
As you know, I'm a huge fan of all things fairytale, and what could be more enchanting than a trip to the white cliffs, those dramatic, mythical giants that seem to be straight out of a storybook? 😍
I just had to incorporate my love for the fantastical into my look, naturally, and opted for a breathtakingly beautiful pale pink tulle tutu with a shimmering silver trim. The softest shade of pink imaginable, with an almost iridescent quality, reflecting the light of the sun and the sea. 💕 It made me feel like a ballerina princess, twirling amongst the fairy tale landscape!
The journey down was magical, too. I've always been a train enthusiast, loving the rhythmic clatter of the tracks and the chance to soak in the changing scenery from the carriage window. This time, though, I took the slow scenic route, hopping on the line with stunning views across the English countryside. Just me, my tutu, a good book, and the ever-present soundtrack of the world rushing by. Truly divine. ✨
I spent my time in Dover exploring the historic castle, marveling at the sheer power of the cliffs, and letting my imagination run wild. It's such a wonderful place for feeling inspired and energised, and I think the inspiration really showed in the ballet photos I captured. Imagine a graceful silhouette against a backdrop of white chalk and a vast, endless sky – pure ballet magic!
I even spotted a cheeky little robin who decided to make a guest appearance in my photo shoot. Isn't he adorable? 💖
There was even an opportunity to get in touch with my inner animal this time. 🐆 I visited the Dover Wildlife Park, a wonderful sanctuary for animals of all kinds, from adorable meerkats to magnificent tigers! 🐅 They had such amazing, unique stories to tell.
It's truly a humbling experience to encounter these incredible creatures and learn about their conservation. We should all be more mindful of the environment, don't you think? We're all part of a much bigger story, and each one of us can make a difference, no matter how small. 💖
As much as I enjoyed the animal encounters, it was the ballet performances I truly found the most inspiring. There was this breathtakingly beautiful modern ballet show in a little, tucked away theatre that blew my mind! The movements, the passion, the emotional connection - everything was simply exquisite. I left the theatre completely mesmerized.
Of course, no trip to Dover would be complete without a traditional fish and chip supper, all enjoyed in the most picturesque harbour setting. 😋 Talk about the perfect blend of salty sea air, classic British cuisine, and a tutu-clad ballerina! It was pure delight!
If you're planning a trip to the coast, Dover is a must-visit! There's just something about its history, its dramatic landscape, and its vibrant culture that's absolutely irresistible.
And you know what? Even though my travels are filled with exciting destinations, my favourite thing about every trip is always getting back to my Derbyshire studio and teaching the next generation of dancers. There's nothing more rewarding than seeing their eyes light up when they master a new move, or feel that beautiful feeling of "flow" when they start to understand the true magic of ballet. 💖
And it's precisely that sense of joy and wonder that I hope to spread through my blog.
