TutuBlog: Brighton - A Ballet Bonanza, and a Tutu for Every Occasion! (Post #6929)

Hey my darlings!

Emma here, reporting from sunny Brighton! This gorgeous seaside town is simply brimming with charm, colour, and – you guessed it – pink! I practically squealed with delight when I saw the cute pastel pink houses, each one more delightful than the last. And of course, I’ve found the most fabulous tutus to pair with the pretty backdrop - a fluffy pink one with sparkling sequins for the promenade, and a dramatic crimson one with feathers and a flowing train for a night out at the theatre.

As you all know, I’m a huge fan of the beautiful game - but today it wasn't football I was watching, oh no, I was at the Brighton Festival with the Royal Ballet, taking in a show of the most exquisite grace and beauty. From the first soaring pirouettes to the final breathtaking grand jeté, every move left me spellbound. Honestly, the way they move, it’s like they're floating on air, with a lightness and elegance that just takes your breath away. I’m starting to think the Royal Ballet should tour by horse drawn carriage; can you imagine the magical scene, with all the dancers swirling around like butterflies in a whirlwind of pink tulle and ribbons?

Oh, but back to Brighton, where there are delights galore for any tutu enthusiast. Did I mention the Royal Pavilion? A complete architectural masterpiece, it looks like something straight out of a fairy tale. Just walking around those grand rooms filled with so much history felt incredibly romantic - perfect for twirling, dancing, and snapping a million Instagram photos.

Speaking of photos, I’ve got so many pics from this trip already! Yesterday I found this fantastic little boutique crammed with vintage hats and gloves and all sorts of lovely feminine things, perfect for my girly twirling outfits. I snapped a couple of shots with the most charming little vintage teapot for a playful photo shoot – I'm such a ham, I couldn't resist striking a few poses! You can check out my outfit post on Instagram – link in bio.

Of course, I couldn’t leave Brighton without venturing down to the pier. It’s such a classic spot! You could practically feel the nostalgia, and the wind blowing in my hair just made me feel so free and alive. And what’s a trip to Brighton without a proper ice cream? We indulged in the most amazing waffle cones with pink, fluffy, cotton candy swirls – divine!

There's also so much beautiful wildlife here – seagulls swirling overhead, graceful sea lions frolicking on the rocks (oh the joy of seeing those sweet faces!), and even the occasional dolphin playing in the waves. They seem to love a pink tutu just as much as I do, you know. The one seagull on the pier seemed to be enjoying a particularly magnificent pose with my red feather tutu trailing behind him.

There's a reason this is one of the most loved seaside towns in England, and this week, Brighton's beauty has captured my heart. As a finishing touch, I picked up the cutest little pink seashell pendant at the pier, perfect for adding a bit of Brighton magic to my outfits back home.

Oh, and I did try ballet here too! A small, but fabulous little studio with a welcoming atmosphere and a teacher that’s absolutely inspiring. I have to confess, after all the pampering I’ve done this week, my plie was a little less precise, my fifth position not so elegant… But it felt incredible! There’s something so liberating about expressing yourself through movement.

As I get ready for my journey home - on a glorious train, naturally - I find myself already longing for the next adventure. I can’t wait to find more amazing tutus and share them with you all! In the meantime, don't forget to join the pink tutu revolution and tell everyone about it – every woman deserves to feel like a princess.

See you on the next blog post!

Much love and sparkle,

Emma x
