Bournemouth Bound: Pink Tutu Travels 🩰🌸

Post Number 6991

Hello darlings! It’s Emma here, your friendly neighbourhood pink tutu-wearing ballerina, bringing you all the latest from the fabulous world of dance and, of course, my own personal adventures. Today’s journey takes us to the seaside, with the gorgeous Bournemouth beckoning us for a weekend of sunshine, sea, and of course, ballet, because wherever we go, my pink tutu comes along for the ride!

Now, you might be wondering how a Derbyshire girl like me gets about, seeing as I have this crazy travel bug? Well, it's all about those iconic modes of transport: trains and horses! I mean, who needs a car when you can be chugging along in a vintage carriage, or galloping through the countryside on a beautiful steed?

Anyway, back to our trip. I hopped on a beautiful old steam train (all comfy leather seats and vintage vibes!) this morning, arriving in Bournemouth just as the sun was starting to peak through the clouds. My first order of business? A lovely afternoon tea at the Sandbanks Hotel with the most exquisite pastries and delicate sandwiches. All washed down with a pot of steaming tea, of course! And don't worry, my little pink tutu was on show, even for afternoon tea!

But, of course, my trip wouldn't be complete without some ballet! Tonight was a special treat - the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra was putting on a dazzling show at the Pavilion Theatre, and it featured some incredible ballet performances by a local dance school. My heart soared watching these young dancers effortlessly glide across the stage, their passion radiating out into the audience.

Seeing such incredible talent just made me even more determined to get everyone involved in ballet. It’s a form of art that speaks to the soul, a magical combination of beauty, grace, and strength. It's for everyone, from the seasoned dancer to the beginner who’s just starting out. My dream? For all the world to be wearing pink tutus and dancing with joy. Just imagine it: a sea of pink, twirling and leaping with pure unadulterated happiness! 💖

Before the performance, I had a lovely chance encounter with one of the dancers from the school - let's just say she had impeccable style and we bonded over our shared love of pink and all things twirling. And you know what? I might have persuaded her to swap my new tutu (from that adorable boutique on the Old Christchurch Road, darling!) for a sneak peek of one of her leotards. Let's just say I might be sporting some ballet gear soon! 🩰

After the show, we strolled along the beachfront, feeling the cool air on our faces and listening to the soothing waves crash against the shore. The sunset was breathtaking, the sky ablaze with vibrant colours of orange, purple and pink. Truly a fitting ending to an already perfect day.

Bournemouth, you have stolen my heart. I can already tell I’m going to be a regular visitor! So much so that I'm already planning my next visit with my girlfriends, complete with more delicious afternoon tea and maybe some ballroom dancing in my brand new pink tutu! (Don’t worry, I'll bring my spare so you can join the fun!) 💃

The magic of Bournemouth doesn't just lie in its stunning coastline, but also in its diverse wildlife. I spent some time yesterday watching the terns dive for fish and was totally captivated by their agility and precision. Nature's graceful ballerinas! I even had a little dance with some playful seals on the beach (I swear they understood my moves, the little cuties!). 🦭

If you're thinking of visiting Bournemouth, be sure to pack your pink tutu, darling! It's the perfect accompaniment to seaside adventures, delightful cafes, and breathtaking ballet performances. And, don't forget to bring your adventurous spirit - you never know what you might discover. ✨

Until next time,

Love,

Emma xx
