Oxford, Tutus & Tea! (Post 6996)

Hello, darlings! It’s your favourite tutu-clad traveller Emma, signing in from the charming city of Oxford!

Oh, my Oxford! What a whirlwind of beauty, history, and pink, frilly fun it's been! I just had to share my adventures with you, my lovely readers. Remember how I was gushing about this trip back in my last post? Well, let me tell you, the reality completely lived up to my high expectations.

You know me – a girl can’t go anywhere without her trusty tutu, especially not somewhere as photogenic as Oxford! But this time, I got a little creative... This wasn't your average sparkly, poofy tulle... oh no! This time, my tutu paid tribute to all the amazing food Oxford has to offer! It was a real culinary masterpiece – think delicate pastel pinks and buttercream frosting. My Instagram followers went wild for it – you know me, I never shy away from a statement piece!

My Journey to Oxford

To get to this lovely town, I of course went the most romantic way possible – by train. Honestly, the chugging along through the green English countryside in a comfy first-class carriage with a hot cuppa in hand is just bliss!

Once I reached the Oxford station, it was like stepping into another world. The beautiful historic buildings and the charming, cobblestone streets instantly stole my heart! But of course, my first stop had to be The Oxford University Ballet Society! They're actually running a summer school – just like mine! And you just KNOW I couldn't miss this opportunity!

The Magic of Oxford Ballet

So, I traded my travel tutu for a classic black leotard and pink pointe shoes, ready for some serious ballet. These young ballerinas were absolutely incredible! They're all so passionate about ballet, and they truly live and breathe this art form. The studios are just divine too, all mirrors and grand pianos, the perfect setting to feel the magic unfold. I just adore seeing new talent emerge and inspire the future generation of ballerinas! I even treated myself to a delicious homemade ballet cake afterward – strawberry and cream, of course! After all, we can't forget about that sweet, sweet treat!

A Food-Loving Tutu Explores Oxford

Now, you know my heart belongs to both dance and delicious food! I couldn’t possibly resist exploring the culinary gems this beautiful city had to offer. And believe me, they didn’t disappoint! From the best cup of tea at the Queen's Lane Coffee House (the pastries, swoon!) to the incredible vegan pizza at The Missing Bean (did I mention it was PINK?), my taste buds were in absolute heaven! Every bite felt like a little ballet dance on my tongue, that's how much I enjoyed it.

Oxford by Night

I even spent an evening at the Oxford Playhouse, enjoying a beautiful ballet performance. It was a real treat for my tutu-clad soul, with amazing choreography and a vibrant cast!

I have to say, Oxford’s night scene was equally enchanting. All the historic buildings were magically lit up, adding a touch of fairytale charm. I could have wandered through the cobblestone streets for hours! And it wasn't all just about the scenery; the people in Oxford were so welcoming – everyone greeted each other with such warmth, and I couldn’t resist chatting with fellow ballet lovers!

My Tutu Wish

Okay, now for a special confession – as I took a break from exploring and savored a scrumptious ice cream, I found myself daydreaming. What if everyone, absolutely everyone, embraced the joy and beauty of ballet? Imagine the world with people in every shade of pink tutu, twirling down the streets, feeling empowered, joyful and full of creative energy! Wouldn’t that be a lovely vision? Maybe one day!

Stay Tuned, Dear Readers!

This journey through Oxford has definitely been one to remember. From my ballet adventures and delicious culinary finds, to the captivating history and enchanting atmosphere, every moment has been a perfect blend of pink, tutus, and joie de vivre!

Now, off to my next adventure – I’m hoping to saddle up on a magnificent steed and explore the Scottish Highlands next! It's going to be a grand journey filled with even more tutu-tastic adventures! Be sure to join me, my lovely readers, by visiting my website and checking in on my social media!

Until then, may your days be filled with twirls, treats, and boundless joy. Keep dancing, keep believing, and keep sparkling, darling!
