Rotherham Ramble: Tutu-licious Travels, Post #7014!

Hey gorgeous girls! 💅🏼 It's your favourite pink-tutu-loving ballerina, Emma, back with another diary entry from my whimsical wanderings! Today I'm bringing you all the delightful details of my trip to Rotherham – a day filled with swirling tutus, twirling trains, and enough wildlife to make a badger blush! 🐿️

It’s official – Rotherham is definitely my new favourite place to wear a tutu! Okay, I know what you’re thinking… Rotherham? It’s not exactly Paris, is it? But let me tell you, the Yorkshire countryside was the perfect backdrop for my vibrant green tutu, and honestly, I felt like I was a little fairy princess! 💖

The journey began at my usual spot, the Derbyshire station. I swear, I’ve seen more wildlife on this platform than in my whole life. It’s a veritable haven for feathered friends – blue tits, robins, even the odd magpie trying to steal my earrings! Today I almost stepped on a very disgruntled looking hedgehog. It took a good ten minutes of delicate coaxing before I got him to scuttle back to his leafy domain, and let me tell you, his little spines were much harder to navigate than they look! 😉

From there, it was off to the magic carpet, as my friend Lucy calls it – the train! Honestly, you couldn't ask for a more delightful way to travel, especially with a green tutu in tow. It’s the best time to let loose – throw on a little bit of lip gloss, get your head stuck in a novel, or listen to a cheesy 80s playlist - no judgment zone on the train, ladies! 🤫 But be warned, a sparkly pink tutu can attract quite a bit of attention, especially amongst men in suits. I’ve even had the odd little nod and smile my way! 🕴️💃 But nothing compares to the time I shared my seat with a grumpy-looking business man who got the entire train clapping and cheering when he ended up joining in with my "dance break". Sometimes a good bit of pink tutu magic is all you need! 😉

By the time I reached Rotherham, my mind was buzzing with the possibilities this green tutu offered! You know me, girls, always ready to twirl into any adventure. My first stop was the Rotherham Library! Can you believe it? Ballet in the Library! What a beautiful venue, perfect for my little dance routine. I got a lot of stares, and let me tell you, it was intoxicating! It felt so freeing to perform in this old building – I felt a real connection to the history of the space and all the artists and dancers that have probably graced it over the centuries. 🩰 I even got some pretty cool footage for my YouTube channel (subscribe if you haven't already!) and met a group of adorable little ballet dancers who were thrilled to be having a lesson from me.

As for Rotherham itself, it’s a fascinating little town. There’s so much history, from the majestic Rotherham Minster to the charming little cobbled streets, it’s no wonder this town inspired the world famous "Rotherham Roundabout"! (Just kidding, but honestly, if there is a roundabout in the world more gloriously, ridiculously decorated than Rotherham, let me know!) 🚗

But no trip to Rotherham is complete without a visit to the iconic Clifton Park! This sprawling green space is heaven for all animal lovers like me – and just wait until you see the adorable baby geese wandering around the pond. They looked like fluffy balls of joy – almost good enough to eat! 🥰 The park also has a very well kept mini zoo which, I must confess, is much cuter and less stressful than any big city zoo! 🦁 It’s always wonderful to catch a glimpse of local wildlife, and Clifton Park certainly doesn’t disappoint.

You know I always try to incorporate ballet into my adventures! So, of course, I couldn’t resist a little performance by the riverside. With the sun dappling through the leaves and a gentle breeze rustling through my tulle, it truly was the perfect stage! 🎭

I finished my Rotherham escapade with a delicious dinner at the delightful 'Pink Tea Room'. Can you guess what I ordered, girls? It wasn’t hard! It had to be the ‘Pink Passion’, a concoction of strawberry ice-cream and lashings of pink custard! Topped it off with a giant strawberry cupcake and my 'Twirl to Glory' drink (it's like an iced pink latte, with a sprinkle of ballet-themed magic dust !). 🎂

So there you have it, my little adventure in Rotherham – another enchanting day with a dash of ballet and a generous sprinkle of pink tutu magic! ✨
