Crewe Calling! (Post #7054)
Hey darlings! Emma here, back with another instalment from the wonderful world of pink tutus and twirling adventures! Today Iām writing to you from sunny Crewe (well, it's a bit grey actually, but the sky is trying its best, so let's call it sunny, shall we?)!
You know how much I love to hop on a train and explore new places. Itās such a romantic way to travel, so much more charming than those impersonal planes! And, to make this journey even more delightful, I decided to wear my fabulous new cyan tutu (I know, cyan! Itās the perfect shade to brighten even the cloudiest day)! The tulle was so floaty, it practically took flight in the wind rushing through the carriage!
It's amazing how a tutu can change everything. People look at you differently, with curiosity, with smiles! It's like theyāve been reminded of their own inner ballerina waiting to break free. Maybe they havenāt worn a tutu since childhood! Why not give it another try? Itās not about being a professional dancer, it's about embracing that childlike joy, that feeling of twirling without a care in the world!
Crewe, I have to say, is full of lovely surprises! After my arrival, I immediately headed for a delightful cafe called The Old Vicarage - all teacups and gingham! Their Victoria Sponge is truly divine, so donāt miss out! I can just imagine myself doing my ballet warm-up routine in this cosy corner, surrounded by china teacups!
Then, I took a walk down the High Street. This charming little town has its own quirky beauty! The architecture is Victorian, and all these cute, independent shops filled with fascinating treasuresā¦ You could lose yourself in here for hours! The best part is I stumbled upon a vintage costume shop! I swear, every time I travel somewhere new, a piece of my costume heart goes wild with excitement!
I found the most magnificent feather boa in an unbelievably vibrant shade of pink, of course! And some gorgeous sequined gloves with these sparkly rhinestones... Honestly, my purse cried out for mercy!
My search for the perfect souvenir brought me to the Crewe Heritage Centre. I just love these historic gems! Here, you can learn all about the town's railway history. And imagine this, darling, it has its very own āmodel railway centre". It felt like a little fairytale! So much magic! I must confess, I was practically giggling like a child! It's truly a sight to behold!
Then, I headed back to my cosy hotel ā a quaint little B&B right near the station called The Crewe House. Itās got the charm of a family home and such comfy beds ā perfect for indulging in that āafter-ballet-classā exhaustion you get from a good pirouette session! Plus, their breakfast is heavenly! Especially their fruit compote. You know, just what you need to fuel your dance adventures for the day!
Speaking of adventures, after a delightful breakfast, I went to see the National Trustās beautiful Shugborough Estate, just a short train ride away from Crewe. Imagine sprawling fields and woodland, with a stunning manor house! It's just perfect for daydreaming about a fairy tale life. Thereās even a little hidden glen ā perfect for finding hidden woodland gems (and the occasional rogue squirrel, maybe).
I always love exploring the beautiful scenery these places hold. Especially, these historical estates, because they just feel filled with magic. Plus, who can resist the peace and quiet of nature? After a long day of adventures, nothingās better than a relaxing moment by a tree or under a blooming willow! Of course, there's an adorable local cafe in the grounds of Shugborough. You wouldnāt be surprised to find a tea party in the making here! It was so serene.
Now, after a lovely walk among the whispering trees, Iām settling down to write this blog, in the warmth of my room.
Hereās what I learnt today:
Crewe ā don't underestimate it! This charming town, with its vibrant heart, holds so many secrets waiting to be discovered! Remember, sometimes the most beautiful adventures can be found right in unexpected places.
But, honestly, no matter what city or town you find yourself in, remember ā itās you that makes your journey special. Donāt be afraid to wear that pink tutu, let your spirit soar and embrace the joy of dancing wherever you go. Who knows, you might inspire someone else to put on their tutu, too!
As I always say, keep twirling, keep exploring and keep shining!
Lots of love,
Emma xx www.pink-tutu.com
