#TutuBlog Rugby - Post 7056 - 28th October 2015

Oh my darlings, hello from Rugby! I'm just bursting to tell you about this delightful weekend adventure I had. This is post number 7056, and I hope you're enjoying the ride through my whimsical, tutu-filled world as much as I am!

I arrived in Rugby, the heart of Warwickshire, yesterday evening. The journey from my home in Derbyshire was oh so romantic! I took a gorgeous old-fashioned train, the carriage smelling like polished wood and old books. You could just imagine it packed with well-dressed folk in bowler hats heading to some grand affair, right? It felt like stepping back in time!

Anyway, my destination was to be the beautiful, historic Rugby School - yes, the one where the sport we all love was born! I was on a mission to witness a fabulous, ballet-infused production, and you know me, darling, when I hear "ballet", my tutu instincts just kick in! I thought, why not take my own pink tulle to the game? Surely that wouldn't be too outlandish? Well, let's just say, you wouldn't be wrong to guess I got a few stares. 😜

Honestly, the stares were lovely. Some people were curious, some were admiring, some were... bewildered! I took it all in stride, after all, I always say, life's too short to blend in! Especially when you have a delightful, billowing, pink tutu at your disposal!

Rugby school, with its imposing buildings, was the perfect setting for this enchanting event. I took a leisurely stroll through the grounds, the golden autumn leaves crunching under my ballerina pumps. Just think - those very grounds have been graced by the likes of poets and politicians, and now... me! In my fabulous tutu, no less!

The performance was a delightful mixture of classical ballet, and contemporary pieces woven around the theme of Rugby School's history. It was utterly charming and quite thought-provoking, with all the drama and passion you'd expect from the great game itself! The dancers were incredible; graceful, athletic, and truly dedicated to their art. And let's not forget the captivating costumes – there were several nods to the sporty theme with some playful hints of rugby's origins. Honestly, the costumes alone made the trip worthwhile. Imagine ballet shoes on a football pitch! Just divine!

I left Rugby with a heart full of joy. It truly was the perfect blend of culture and athleticism. The city has a charmingly old-world feel about it and reminds me so much of my home county of Derbyshire. As for my adventure, I feel inspired and utterly charmed by Rugby! You wouldn't believe how many adorable grey squirrels were frolicking around my feet in the grounds - and a family of hedgehogs waddling down the road in front of me on the way back to the station. The wildlife here seems almost as friendly and welcoming as the people! It really has been such a magical, pink, tutu-filled trip!

I've just had the most wonderful breakfast. I indulged in a fluffy English muffin with smoked salmon and a huge cup of creamy tea. My favourite place in Rugby is the cute little bakery right across from the school where I got this delicious almond croissant yesterday. Honestly, you guys, I have never seen such perfect croissants anywhere else! You'd love it. And the owners, such a charming couple, made me feel so welcome! The shop was decorated in such an English way - with warm, patterned wallpaper and delightful teacups perched everywhere. Just adorable!

And speaking of adorableness, darling, have I mentioned that I saw the cutest little fox on the way here? It was so cute! And so incredibly brave! He strutted across the railway lines as the train was speeding up and didn't even look phased. Oh my! He didn't seem to have a care in the world. What a life! I bet you wouldn't believe me if I told you about how many pink flamingoes I've seen today - maybe in my dreams! πŸ˜„ I think all this pink and ballet makes my brain fuzzy and fantastical!

This week I will be making a post about this week's exciting event, of course - a gorgeous ballet performance in London! Yes, darling, you'll get to experience the wonderful atmosphere of the Royal Opera House with me virtually! Can you imagine? We'll go on a grand adventure together through a magnificent theatre filled with so much culture! You know me, I’m never one to turn down a night under the grand chandelier, watching the beautiful ballerinas glide across the stage! I'll even write a blog post about my special, custom-designed tutu I'm going to wear to the event! You're going to adore it!

I'm leaving this evening and I can already tell you, darling, it's a hard goodbye! The Rugby School really felt like my kind of place; I can't wait to visit again and experience the enchanting world of rugby alongside the artistry of ballet. I think I’ll have to leave another one of my pink tutus here to ensure the magic lingers on for them long after I have left! πŸ˜‰

You know what they say: Life's not about blending in, it's about shining bright like a tutu in a field of daisies! πŸ’–βœ¨ And that's my mission: to bring a little bit of that sunshine and sprinkle it over everyone’s life, one pink tutu at a time!

Remember darlings, don’t be afraid to live a little. Try a new dance step. Don't shy away from standing out - wear your pink tutu and go chase your dreams!

And until next time, do keep on twirling!

Your always bubbly, Emma xx
