Royal Tunbridge Wells: Pink Tutu Adventures, Post #7087 🩰💖
Oh my darlings, you wouldn't believe the adventures I had in Royal Tunbridge Wells! This charming town, with its pretty cobbled streets and quaint cafes, really stole my heart. I was there for a couple of days, taking a much-needed break from the hectic pace of life in London. I decided to travel the old-fashioned way, by train, of course, settling into a comfortable carriage and dreaming up new pink tutu looks as I chugged through the English countryside.
Arriving at Royal Tunbridge Wells station, I was met by a gentle breeze and the sight of people bustling about their daily lives. There was a real sense of community here, a feeling that I couldn't wait to soak up.
Now, I'm a girl who knows how to pack a proper travel tutu bag. My go-to for this trip was a classic blush pink tulle number, the sort that just screams "graceful elegance". It's incredibly versatile and I knew I could pull off both daytime looks and evening glamour.
First up, a bit of pampering was in order. A gorgeous pink afternoon tea at a quaint little cafe tucked away in a side street. The aroma of freshly brewed tea and dainty sandwiches was just what I needed to unwind. My delicate floral print teacup was the perfect complement to the sweet pink icing on my strawberry and cream cake. Life doesn't get much better!
Later that afternoon, I found myself wandering through the beautiful Dunorlan Park, its vast green lawns and lush woodland an idyllic setting. I simply had to channel my inner ballerina! As the golden hour bathed the trees in a warm glow, I twirled amongst the trees, feeling a sense of freedom and happiness that only a dance in nature can offer.
It’s impossible to visit Tunbridge Wells and not pay a visit to the charming Pantiles. A real historic gem, the cobbled street lined with shops and cafes had a distinct vintage feel to it. I took a lovely stroll along the Pantiles, making sure to pop into the gorgeous shops – and, of course, taking some stylish outfit snaps for my Instagram.
Of course, I couldn't go to Tunbridge Wells without indulging in some theatrical delights. I was thrilled to catch a performance of a Shakespearean play at the charming Tunbridge Wells Theatre. It was truly captivating! As I settled into my plush red velvet seat, I felt a surge of excitement for the evening ahead. I'd always adored Shakespeare’s poetic words, and watching his timeless works brought alive in a such a charming setting was simply magical.
Another highlight of my visit was discovering the wonderful Ashdown Forest. Stepping into the mystical landscape felt like stepping back in time, a wild and wondrous world straight out of a fairytale. The trees whispered secrets in the wind as I wandered amongst them, feeling a deep connection to nature. I couldn't resist snapping some shots of the lush green foliage, and a few playful photos with a little bunny that hopped right in front of me. It truly was a magical place!
Of course, a trip to Tunbridge Wells wouldn’t be complete without experiencing the ballet, so I made my way to the stunning Royal Tunbridge Wells Opera House, where I was greeted by a magnificent building bathed in a rosy glow, perfect for my pink tutu. The performances inside were even more captivating – a wonderful selection of classical ballets and contemporary dances that left me in awe. I could have watched them all day!
As my short break came to an end, I bid farewell to Royal Tunbridge Wells, feeling refreshed and utterly charmed by this lovely corner of England. As the train whisked me back to Derbyshire, I knew I'd soon be returning. Royal Tunbridge Wells is a town I'll cherish for its beauty, its historic charm, and its unexpected opportunities to get my tutu on. And trust me, I have even more amazing adventures planned – the next one takes me to the Scottish Highlands. You won't want to miss that one, darlings! So make sure you stay tuned to my blog, and maybe even take inspiration to create a little adventure of your own! Until next time, remember: the world's your pink tutu stage.
With a twirl and a wink, Emma 💖🩰
