Caerphilly: A Tutu Adventure in Wales! 🩰

Hello darlings! Emma here, and I’m so excited to be back with you today for post number 7132, straight from the lovely, charming town of Caerphilly in Wales. You know me – always on the lookout for adventure, and this time, I thought I'd combine my love for travel with my absolute passion – ballet!

And what better way to travel than by train? There’s something magical about hurtling through the countryside, watching the world zoom past. I packed my lucky pink tutu, the one with the sparkly sequins, and let me tell you, it definitely attracted some curious glances at the station – in a good way, of course!

Now, Caerphilly. What a delight! You can’t even imagine my excitement as we approached the town – a giant castle perched on a hill overlooking it all. It looked straight out of a fairytale, and I almost imagined I'd step out of the train and straight into a ballet performance! And speaking of ballet, I couldn't wait to try a class here.

It was a beautiful studio, right by the castle walls – such a perfect setting, you can’t get more inspiring! The teacher was wonderful – very welcoming, and she taught us some gorgeous movements inspired by Welsh folklore. It was like stepping back in time, with the ancient castle watching over us.

After the class, I was lucky enough to visit Caerphilly Castle. It's not just any castle, though. Imagine towering stone walls, secret passageways, and even a dragon. I had to put on my ballet shoes, just for the occasion, and twirl through those grand halls, pretending to be a princess on a royal mission!

Let me tell you, the place is positively bursting with history and romance. I spent hours wandering the battlements, picturing the knights in shining armour and their noble quests. There’s a certain magical quality about castles, and Caerphilly was just breathtaking.

But Caerphilly’s magic didn’t end there! We also took a walk by the lake, where graceful swans glided through the water. And I had a sneaky suspicion that these birds are fans of pink tutus, as they gave me the most curious looks. They were like a feathered audience!

The locals were delightful too – so friendly and warm, with stories to tell of their own. One gentleman told me tales of the famous Caerphilly cheese, and a lovely lady even gifted me a handmade, crocheted flower for my hair.

You know me, always up for trying local delicacies, and this trip wouldn't have been complete without indulging in a delicious piece of Welsh cake. Sweet, buttery, and absolutely delicious!

But the real highlight of the trip, without a doubt, was the breathtaking sunset. It cast a rosy glow over the castle, as if painted with pink paintbrushes! It felt like a personal invitation to embrace the joy of life, to dance under the open sky, and to keep chasing those bright pink dreams.

My time in Caerphilly was a perfect blend of adventure, culture, and pure delight. I can't recommend it enough.

It's a place where history and nature beautifully intertwine, and where even the wildest dreams take flight. It's where I discovered a new favourite pink tutu (just a hint: a pale lavender, with feather-light ruffles) and realised once again how much I adore the world.

If you're thinking about a weekend trip, and love history and dance, Caerphilly is your perfect destination! It's magical. And a little bit like wearing a pink tutu – it instantly transforms the world into a magical, delightful place.

Until next time, lovelies! Stay fabulous, and don't forget to twirl your worries away!

Emma xx
