Bishops Stortford: Tutuing Around Town - Post #7146

Hello, my gorgeous tutu-loving lovelies! It's Emma, back with another daily dose of pink, sequins, and all things twirly! Today, I'm writing from the delightful town of Bishops Stortford, a little gem nestled in the heart of Hertfordshire.

As you know, I’m always on the hunt for exciting new adventures and places to spread the Tutu Love. And Bishops Stortford definitely didn't disappoint! I was lucky enough to spend the day exploring this charming town, where even the swans looked as though they were poised for a pirouette!

Speaking of swans, my journey to Bishops Stortford was one I'll remember for ages! Instead of the usual train (although, let's face it, I do love a good carriage ride!), I opted for something a bit more... whimsical. That's right, I got to ride a beautiful, dappled grey mare named Luna! It was an absolute dream. Picture it: me, in my fluffy, pink tutu, gracefully riding alongside a majestic horse, with the sun shining down and the wind whispering in my hair. I felt like I had stepped straight out of a fairy tale!

After that magical journey, it was time for a bit of retail therapy, naturally. Bishops Stortford has some adorable independent boutiques bursting with stylish outfits. But for me, there’s only one must-have for a fabulous day: a new tutu, of course!

I stumbled upon the most wonderful shop tucked away in a little alleyway, with racks upon racks of gorgeous, pink tutus. Imagine a kaleidoscope of lace, tulle, and ribbons in all the shades of pink imaginable! I ended up leaving with a fluffy, light-as-air, powder-pink tutu that swirled like a cloud. It's a bit more of a “street style” tutu than a traditional one, but it still makes my heart flutter. Plus, I can imagine the perfect outfit to pair it with – maybe a sassy, black leather jacket and some chunky trainers. Just a hint of street-wear sass with that signature Tutu Girl charm, eh?

No trip is complete without a spot of ballet, so naturally, I found myself at Bishops Stortford Ballet School in the afternoon. This beautiful school had such a welcoming atmosphere, filled with children bouncing on their toes and eager to learn the art of dance. It was so heartwarming to see their excitement and passion, and it made me remember just why I love this dance form so much. Even watching a young ballerina perfecting her pirouettes made me want to twirl. It’s so infectious!

To cap off a day that felt like a dream, I treated myself to a cup of hot chocolate at a cosy café with a breathtaking view overlooking the town. Honestly, I felt as if I had stumbled into a storybook. The café itself was quaint, with mismatched teacups and comfy armchairs perfect for afternoon tea and some chat.

And oh, what do you think I wore? Of course, my brand new pink tutu, but not just any tutu. It’s the “Gymnastic Tutu!” Yes, it has an elastic band across the top. Now, the more seasoned Tutu Girls out there know, this isn't just some mere fashion piece, it's practically a piece of gym equipment! (Shh, don't tell the ballet masters!).

Anyway, it made for a fantastically fun, impromptu ballet class in the cafĂ©, with a couple of the cafe workers (who, by the way, had the cutest twirls, ever!), my little pink ballet companion, and a lot of laughter. And hey, maybe it wasn't a traditional dance session, but with a smile on my face, some warm chocolate swirling in my stomach, and that fabulous feeling of tulle twirling all around me, you can’t say it wasn’t perfect!

I know that, sometimes, when we get caught up in our busy lives, it's easy to forget about the beauty and joy of dancing. But the experience in Bishops Stortford reminded me just how important it is to indulge in our passions and let loose. I also realized that sharing this love for dance, tutus and pink, and helping others discover the magic within themselves is so rewarding.

So, go forth and twirl! Embrace your inner Tutu Girl, wear a touch of pink, and don't be afraid to spin your worries away. And, as always, tell me your adventures – what have you been doing today, where will you be tutuing tomorrow, and don’t forget to share those lovely pics with us over on Instagram @pinktutu !

Lots of love,

Emma, Your Tutu Girl
