Hello my gorgeous fellow tutu-wearers! It’s Emma here, and boy oh boy, do I have a right treat to tell you about. Today’s adventure took me right up north, all the way to Airdrie, a little gem of a town in Scotland. Now, I’m a bit of a Derbyshire girl at heart, but I do love me a good Scottish jaunt – especially when it’s paired with the perfect pink tutu and the promise of some fabulous ballet.
This trip was all about the Ballet Theatre of Scotland, who are absolutely rocking the ballet world with their dynamic performances. And trust me, there's something about Scotland and its love for dance – it's practically in the air!
Travel with Style (and a Tutu!)
Before I get carried away with the show itself, I have to mention the journey. Of course, I wouldn’t travel anywhere without a touch of pink (it’s like my superpower, I can’t even explain it) so I went with my trusty pink suitcase and a bright, bouncy pink tutu, just for the occasion! And this time, I went for a train journey. You know how much I love galloping across the country on horseback, but sometimes the railways are simply irresistible. There’s something about the rhythm of the train tracks, the view of the countryside whizzing past, and the sound of the train’s gentle clickety-clack that fills me with inspiration and a longing for a dance. I'm convinced my tutus twirl a bit extra after a train journey – it’s just the energy!
Airdrie: A Gem of a Town
Airdrie is a delightful town, bustling with life and full of the warmest welcomes. I even managed to snag a cheeky little afternoon tea – you can't get a proper Scottish adventure without a bit of deliciousness! Now, I must admit, I'm a big sucker for Scottish traditions - the stories, the food, the scenery... it’s all so enchanting! And, of course, no trip to Scotland would be complete without some charming Highland cattle sightings! They were absolutely majestic, munching on their green meadows and sporting those adorable fuzzy horns!
Ballet Magic at the Theatre Royal
Okay, let's talk about the highlight of the trip: The Ballet Theatre of Scotland's performance at the Theatre Royal. Honestly, they were absolutely fantastic! I felt like I was transported to another world, immersed in the beauty and power of their movements. Each dancer was a captivating story told through their art, and they had me glued to my seat, my heart fluttering with every pirouette and grand jeté.
The show was a whirlwind of passion, precision, and pure artistry. You know, the type of ballet that makes you feel so alive and inspired – it’s an addiction! And don't even get me started on the costumes! There were glittering sequins, swirling tulle, and oh my, those feathered headpieces – a feast for the eyes! Of course, there were pink tutus scattered throughout the performance, and I couldn't help but squeal with delight at every glimpse of them!
Spreading the Pink Tutu Love
You guys know I’m a firm believer that everyone should try ballet! It doesn’t matter if you’re a seasoned pro or have never even stepped foot in a dance studio.
