Dover Dreams: A Pink Tutu Adventure in the White Cliffs

#TutuBlog Post #7185

Hey lovely Tutu Tribe!

It's Emma here, reporting live from Dover! You know I just can't resist a good train journey - that feeling of the rails clicking beneath you as you whizz past countryside, feeling the wind in my hair, and of course, being able to wear my pinkest tutu and some killer heels on board. Iā€™m a true believer that a good outfit makes any trip even better!

So, I'm currently ensconced in the most charming B&B in Dover, surrounded by gorgeous pink florals (it's like they knew I was coming, right? šŸ˜Š). My view from the window is spectacular - the rolling hills, the iconic white cliffs of Dover, and even a glimpse of the sea, sparkling in the afternoon sun. Absolutely dreamy!

Dover, Darling, Dover!

Now, let's talk about this town. Itā€™s a proper quintessential British seaside town with cobbled streets and old pubs, and an incredible history. This was the place where, in 1940, the ā€œLittle Shipsā€ sailed to Dunkirk to bring the British troops home from France, you know! The Dover War Memorial on the top of the cliff is just incredibly moving. I can't believe how many brave souls crossed the Channel and fought in World War II.

Of course, no trip to Dover would be complete without a visit to Dover Castle. I know it might sound touristy, but trust me, this place is something else. It's huge! I swear you could spend an entire day exploring the towers, underground tunnels, and the fascinating museum showcasing Dover's rich history.

Speaking of history, I even got a chance to visit the Dover Museum - I love learning about the area I'm visiting, it just adds another layer to my appreciation for it. There was a fascinating exhibit about the Roman influence on the region, and I just had to take some photos for Instagram. Who knew Romans had a thing for fashion too, right? (Although I donā€™t think they were wearing tutusā€¦)

The Cliffs and the Kestrels

Okay, but let's get real ā€“ the main attraction in Dover has got to be those majestic White Cliffs. Just walking along the clifftop trail is pure bliss - the salty sea air, the feeling of the wind whipping through my hair (seriously, wind and tutus are the perfect combination), the view of the English Channel stretching out in front of you - pure heaven!

While I was admiring the view, I got to spot a few amazing kestrels perched on a crag. They were just beautiful, with their distinctive long tails and elegant flight. Seeing them soaring around in that stunning scenery made me feel so connected to the wild side of this place.

Pink Tutu Bliss

Now, obviously, no trip of mine would be complete without a bit of tutu magic! And, luckily, Dover did not disappoint. I popped into a cute little vintage shop in the centre of town and managed to snag a gorgeous pastel-pink tutu with little black polka dots - it just perfectly encapsulated the sweet and charming vibe of the place!

I had a wonderful time twirling around on the promenade with my new tutu. Seriously, everyone should just try this! Thereā€™s something about the movement and feeling of the tutu that just makes you feel playful and carefree! And then the seagulls added to the spectacle by trying to "help" me out with my performanceā€¦

From Dover to... My Next Tutu Adventure!

Okay, so I'm just so thankful I had the chance to come to Dover. I learned so much, saw so much, and had the absolute best time exploring. And yes, I totally managed to incorporate my signature pink tutu and some pretty awesome pink-themed outfits along the way. That's how you get your daily dose of ā€œpink positivityā€ - and a little bit of fun too.

The thing I've learnt about Dover? Itā€™s a truly remarkable place, filled with history, beauty, and just a touch of that classic British seaside charm. You should definitely put this charming spot on your list for a little getaway.

Speaking of getawaysā€¦ my next Tutu Adventure is already in the works - this time itā€™s a horse-drawn carriage ride through the stunning Peak District! (Oh yes, Derbyshire has some hidden gems too, even if I do live here šŸ˜‰) I'll be sharing all the details with you soon. In the meantime, stay stylish, keep those pink tutus at the ready, and letā€™s continue spreading some tutu-licious joy all around the world.

See you soon,

Emma xx
